Taken from Warcraft 3. There was a dread lord named Varimathras who betrayed the other Dread lords to save his own life. So I changed the i to an a and I kept it.
basically 'Simalacrum' is the name of my sisters old band (they renamed themselves to Silent Evolution' before they broke up for uni), I decided to steal it cause it sounded cool ^-^
A couple of years ago I wanted to give Flash animation a go (though I never actually got around to it) and needed something for my NewGrounds account which would sound good with 'Studios' tacked onto the end, so I took the first random yet cool adjective that came to my head and the first random yet cool noun that came to my head and attached them with a little bit of clumsy surgery, as seemed to be the style for Flash artists at the time; and I've been the Mechanical Cat Fish ever since.
People always asking about my user name, whether it has any meaning.
I make bollocks up, usually, mess with them.
But the honest truth?
If anyone has ever played that dungeon keeper game (fucking great game, love it), well, I went to type something into the create keeper bar, and it wouldn't fit, the characters that did fit were THEOCRATI.
And I looked upon it, and knew it was good, so it stuck.
I was typing 'Theocratic Demon' because, goddamn if it didn't sound cool to my tiny 10 year old brain.

strangely... my username came from my family (kinda)
My grandfather was always referred to as "The Weave." That was his nickname. My father also had this nickname, and they've passed it to me. Whenever I make an internet name, I use that, but with interweb lingo. Thus: tehweave

this was years ago, the name i used to use was being used everywhere so i had to think of a new nickname, i looked at my desk and saw the Resident Evil demo from PC world or whatever the mag was called so i got REZ from that and this was shortly after that hackers movie came out so i picked Zero for the last half. my nick was ReZ_ZerO but everybody kept on thinking i was native and lived on a Rez somewhere...... so i changed it to ReZerO
