1 gig ram is practically nothing. I'll probably just play on my phone.
Just a reminder that the PS2, the best selling console of all time, had 32mb of ram and 4mb of additional video ram. Plus, so many games are dreadful on phones. Any game which needs more than one button, for example, or shoot-em-ups where your fingers are obscuring the screen.

Plus, many people (like me) never bought into this smart-phone rubbish. Wow, so I get to spend hundreds of pounds (and even more on compatible accessories) on something I'm going to take out to the pub with me and drop while I'm pissed? And instead of bouncing harmlessly, will smash the screen rendering it completely useless? And will be obsolete after a frigging year? Pass.

Yeah, if you buy and iPhone you can expect the screen to shatter the first time your drop it. I don't buy iPhones. I drop my S3 all the time and it's yet to have a scratch. Also, obsolete is a funny word. Now, it's not as good as the newer phone, but that doesn't mean it's useless.

I had an original samsung galaxy as my last phone before I upgraded and I could still do virtually everything I do on my new phone, though there was a touch of lag in some newer action games. I don't have that desire to get the best and newest every time a new product comes out. Android and phone games are for killing time when you're on the bus, or waiting for a friend. I wouldn't buy a system just to play time wasters since I'm not my mother.

There are near 500 games in development for the Ouya. Want to guess how many of them are ports of phone games? This is pure speculation, but I'd be willing to bet the majority of them.

Finally, I'm willing to bet any game released on the Ouya that I might want will probably be an indie game available on PC or I'll be able to play comfortably from my phone.

Probably not. I know the possibility is there for solid games, but at the moment if they're just porting existing Android game and have F2P in mind with their other ones, I'm not interested. The entire idea of those games (portable time wasters you can just pull out and play anywhere) is at odds with the idea of a sit down console.

I still don't see the point in it, so no. Didn't it get a terrible reception when they sent it out for Kickstarter people, anyway?

If I can use it to legally obtain classic games from early Nintendo and Sega consoles then i'll probably get one. from what I understand it was meant to play mobile games? I'm not too interested in those.

I backed it on Kickstarter and am still waiting for my shipment... So, yeah, already got one, technically.
No clue how it'll turn out, though. At the very least I can give it to my sister or something.
I don't have a sister, but yeah... I am in the same boat.

I know they halted shipments because there was a problem with the faceplate coming off the controller, so we will see how long they take to arrive.
