In Final Fantasy 7 i decided to do 2 day worth of grinding before i fought sephiroth...i actually killed him in less than10 minutes becaue everyone had everything maxed out so Cloud,Barret, and Yuffie(my 4 favorite characters) went into the battle and destroyed sephiroth so quickly I almost cried over the fact that i don't have a Video Capture Card becaue it would have made a good 1 part youtube video.

I overgrinded in the anti-grinding game Lost Odyssey. The game became pitifully easy as a result. The final boss was dead in 2 turns.

I don't really enjoy games that require grinding. If I'm forced to kill X number of stuff just to be able to fight the next bunch I get bored really fast.

But, if I'm given the choice between grinding and not grinding, I might actually take the grind. It's all about freedom of choice. Just knowing that I don't have to is enough to motivate me.

I end up doing that pretty much every time in FF7. I would grind in the cave after the serpent thing to get all of their first limit breaks for each level (since they required a certain number of kills, and certain rooms always had enemies spawn in groups of 4-5 and matra magic took them all out) before moving on. Then in the crater, I would grind to get all the materia mastered. By the time I had nothing else to do besides kill Emerald/Ruby (which I still have yet to ever do) and finish the game, it was a joke. All my characters were 97+, even when I rarely used most them, and my main ones did 9999 damage with normal attacks.

I had a level 1000 mage before facing the final boss in Disgaea 3. The final boss is level 120 so I just waited a few turns to see if the boss had any interesting attacks.

World of Warcraft. If that can be qualified as an rpg. Otherwise, Breath of Fire I and II for the GBA. I've grinded so much in those games. I don't really dislike it, but it will never be a hobby of mine.

I over-grind in any RPG that lets you do so. FF7 I killed Sephiroth in quite literally 5 minutes due to him being small potatoes compared to the Weapons. FF12 the Undying died in less than 3 minutes. I hit him with one combo per character and it skipped to his death cutscene.

In pokemon leafgreen I leveled my charmander up to a charizard in the first forest before the first gym just for the hell of it. A little bit of grind at the start just made the rest of that game so easy....

I over grind now. When I was a kid, I'd never grind, and the games came out to be really hard.

Now I just want lots of stuff, so I end up grinding to get things (Like X-magic in FF5 ..mmmm...X-magic.) Or I get lost because the game gives really vague directions or none at all...so when I figure it out I just steamroll right through.

The most silly thing about it though is when you read stuff about the game and everyone is like "THAT PART WAS SO HARD I CRIED!" and you realize you didn't even blink during the fight..

I feel I miss most of the experience (not the points.) >.>

Always in FF6. I try to get everyone's best equipment and all the spells on them. As a result of this, I end up way over-levelled for even Kefka.

I grind to certain levels. I don't go overboard if I don't want to, but I try to at least reach certain points.
Like in Pokemon R/B/Y/LG/FR, I'd train my Pokemon to at least level 50 before going against the Elite Four. It'd be tough, but not outright impossible. And really, that degree of challenge is how games should be. Unfortunately, that meant a lot of annoying grinding.

I used to overgrind when playing FFX, to the point I oneshotted Sin. It was kinda funny, but a bit sad as well, seeing the big baddie that the whole world was afraid of being basically cut in half by a blonde, skinny teen. Yes, I used Tidus. Not proud of it, but he did have one of the coolest weapons in the game, so kinda had to use him.

I grinded 'till level 20 in Fallout 3 and Oblivion..... See what I did there?!

Seriously though; though not an RPG I grinded all the masks in Majora's Mask on the first try. As a result I gained the Fierce Deity's mask, and three-shotted Majora. Anit-climactic that was. Gotta say I can't really remember anything else, but if I figure something out, I'll edit it right in!

Oblivion, then doing all the low level quests i can find.

try completing the campaign and lots of quests then doing the arena, it's pretty funny when the yellow team is getting hyped up, one hit later you've won.

Fire Emblem 7.
I got Oswin to a max level Knight before i was half way through the game.
And once he changed class, i had a walking talking Mountain.
With all stats except SPD, LUK, and RES maxed out.

I love over Grinding.

Hopefully you got the DLC for that game, that boss was significantly tougher, even if over-leveled.

OT: I try to level whenever games allow it, though sometimes I get bored and just move on with the story so I can get new enemies to grind against. ;)

Pokemon. Why just barley scrap by the elite four when you can utter crush them and make them weep at your feet?

Isn't Wakka's limit break much stronger? You know that slot machine one? I think I one-shotted Sin with that one.
