Gosh, what is your guys' obsession with Solitaire? That stupid King just constantly trolls me, with the way how he won't go on any card besides an empty slot.

Gears of War 3... holy crap was that game average in every way. There wasn't a single memorable battle or character through the 12 hour campaign and the multiplayer just had a bunch of twits shotgun rolling and tossing grenades.

The worst part about the multiplayer is that you can literally be shooting someone who is out in the open and walking, and somehow a full magazine of ammunition isn't enough to slow them down. They find cover and are able to kill you with a sawed off shotgun. Yeah, GOW 3 sucks. I traded it in for Deus Ex after a week, which is a MUCH better game.

That's the problem with hype. People will assume the game they like will live up to their expectations and more but slaps them in the face once they start to play. I'm not saying hype is a bad thing, but overhyping something beyond what it can deliver hasn't been the best idea for games.

Half Life 2 and all of its episodes.
I wasn't expecting it to be as good as everyone said it was (Because I found the first to be very mediocre), but I was surprised when it was very sub-par.

Two Worlds, do I really need to go into detail of why this game was terrible? Or can I just leave this and walk away?

Call of Duty and Battlefield. Every game in their series. It's always massively hyped up but then always boils down to simple runny gunny game play while hiding behind cover in constant grey and brown. I would say Gears of War but I've never actually played it.

I've found much more fun games that were not hyped at all. Vanquish is one of the most fun games I own and I don't remember seeing a single advert for it.

Elder Scrolls 4
just... just Elder Scrolls 4
but I may eventually get back to it and give it another chance
until then, though, I'll just stick to Vivisector and various Valve games

CoD7 as well

Halo: Reach,

Some games just weren't meant to be played,
well atleast sober or by anyone other than FPS jocks.

Killzone 3 didn't like the characters, the cover system didn't work and felt like i'd rather be playing as the other sides characters. (maybe this is just because I played the demo)

Half Life 2 for me! Uninteresting game, the atmosphere was horrendously badly done (yeah, yeah, Ravenholm was superb - everything else), the Characters were uninteresting (non-existent in Gordan Freeman's case - 'make the character your own' doesn't work in a linear FPS), the Gameplay was mediocre and the puzzles were mediocre, story was fun and the voice acting was solid - no complaints there, but ALL the levels in which ANY vehicle was being driven were atrociously bad.

I enjoyed Episode 1, though - what's wrong with me?

Batman: Arkham Asylum. Wasn't too bad, but with people gushing all the time, it was a disappointment.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Was pretty good, but with people gushing and calling it game of the decade at times, I have to laugh out loud.

For me, it's definately Spore. That game was so incredibly over-hyped and I thought it would be every little bit as amazing as they said it would be. And then dissapointment.

Bah.

Halo. Not only did I find it to be a terrible game, it influenced the years to come and made most mainstream games suck.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

The "Sleep to Level Up" system broke the game for me. And No, I'm not criminal scum, the game just feels outdated.

Have to go with Bioshock. It was such a massive letdown since everyone told me it was handcrafted by Jesus, but all I got was a game that when it wasn't boring, was frustrating. I could go on and on why I think it sucks, but I've done that several times before. I should have spent that 5 bucks on a candy bar (I got it late on a steam sale). I also thought Team Fortress 2 was bad, too much hard countering for my taste, and getting new gear is either a pain or expensive.
