So, while I was watching TV, a commercial for the movie Sex and the City 2 comes on, and it shows a clip of those old ladies riding on camels in the desert, and one of them says " I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.", and I just kinda stared in awe, that still, after over 70 years of 'Oz' being released, there are people who STILL think this is a funny thing to say when they're in a place that's different from what they're used to.

So, what over-used, Hollywood clichés make you roll your eyes and sigh when you see them?

The "It was all a dream" one has always hit a nerve in me. Although, I can't remember the last time it was used. Maybe it's gone for good?

See every chick flick out there right now.

Seriously, if I have to see another commercial for one I will go insane.
That includes romantic comedies.

when the action hero takes his melee weapon and quickly swings it behind his right leg, (possibly extending it, if its a baton.) before he gets into a fight, dear god I hate that.

That was pretty much the entire point of the movie "next" with nick cage.
really wanted to see that sequel, the plot just kind of stopped.

Note to self: Do not see the film "Next" starring Nick Cage.

Thanks for the heads up.

Romantic Comedies. Just romantic comedies in general. Like what Irridium said. Sure there's one or two good ones out there (500 Days of Summer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Annie Hall, etc.) but finding good romantic comedies is like finding fresh water in the Dead Sea.

Well, we're watching The Blind Side for the rest of the year in math. So I'm going with that entire movie.

"I don't want you to get hurt."
This is so cliche' it's painful. I understand it, but couldn't they phrase it differantly?
Shame on you Wolfman and others that I can't remember.

These really arent quotes, more like techniques the crew does to make things seem more dramatic or more action packed.

1. Mother fuckin' Shake-cam. I get the point, its intense. But it's a cliche now. We're not in a damn wind-tunnel here.
2. Over-use of the fast forward in moving scenes, prominent in films from 2000ish to now. If you wanted to skip during a part or transition, just cut it off and cut it out.
3. The silent-scream. 80 percent of action or drama and some horror movies have this in a hugely dramatic scene. Like the Matrix 360 camera angle and Mother fuckin' shake cam, It's had it's day, but now has just become very generic and cliche'd.
4. Zooming in WAY too close to a fight and therefore confusing the hell out the viewer as to whats going on. Seriously, who's punching and kicking who? and where?

And that is all I have for right now.

The girl with glasses and her hair in a bun becomes a hottie after letting her hair down and removing said glasses, but no-one saw it before.

Boy meets girl. Boy and girl bond strongly. Hidden secret comes out which seperates boy and girl temporarily. Boy/girl (usually boy) makes some large gesture in public to prove how he/she really feels. Boy and girl live happily ever after.

HOW many times has this played out with only very minor variations?

Or the "manly" movie version:

Opening of fight scene with protagonist kicking ass. Gradual filling in with weak plot. More fight scenes and pointless explosions (one liners optional). A woman takes off her clothes. Protagonist suffers large defeat (possibly involving a betrayal and/or a father figure getting killed). Protagonist gets angry and defeats all enemies.

Very little in terms of cinema or television entertains me in even the slightest way anymore.
