For me, I'd say Heat, the Michael Mann film from 1995.
I had high hopes for it- (Al Pacino and Robert Deniro is the same scene together? Hell yeah!)
But alas, I found it overall dull and confusing.
That and I had to constantly readjust the volume because the voices were too quiet and the gunshots were too loud.
Saw it a few weeks ago for the first time. I'd heard a lot of good things about that movie and I was pretty excited. I also thought it was great up to the gunfight (THE gunfight), but from that it just dragged out waaaaaay too long and became exactly what you said, dull and confusing.

the thing is, i've never heard anyone claim 300 was historically accurate. that movie is purely eye candy, as was the comic book.
You've never had to speak to a history classroom filled with 10th graders I assume. Dear God I wanted to strangle the man who made 300.

I'm very interested in hearing what kind of questions they asked.

The Matrix, honestly.

I enjoyed it as an action/adventure, and as brain dead entertainment (same with the first Mummy), but there was so much bad science and over-wrought psuedo-mysticism that it just ground on my nerves.

Scott Pilgrim. I would explain, but I've done it enough times already.

Presumably you didn't like Hot Fuzz, then.

To be fair, I'll bet there are 10th graders who think the King Arthur and Robin Hood movies are accurate too.

The Dark Knight. Take away Heath Ledger's admittedly brilliant performance and the "What you should have done ten minutes ago" scene and what's left is banal. Bale's voice is ridiculous and Nolan can't direct an action sequence to save his life.

I really found the Kill Bill movies to be too campy and idiotic so yeah they are overrated.

Since someone already said Avatar I would easily say Pi, the movie's story just goes nowhere.

Avatar. It's a good movie, but a blatant rip-off of Pochahontas with a shiny new paint job. It's more the movie's popularity and the fact that people doesn't realize it's a rip-off that pisses me off.
Oh, and Twilight. Duh!

I don't hate these movies, but I never really understood why people though they were so good.

Ghostbusters
The Godfather
Fight Club

I think they're good, but people tend to make such a big fuzz about them, and I don't understand why. They're pretty average in my opinion.

Most movies I hate, most others also hate.

Anything made by Quentin Tarentino or however you spell it. If I removed all the gore and replaced it with explosions they would still look like it fit perfectly, and I could easily trick everyone here into thinking it was a Michael Bay film.

No, Hot Fuzz is one of my all-time favorite movies. I watched it twice during one summer and both times I laughed throughout the whole thing. Why wouldn't I like it because I didn't like Scott Pilgrim?

Transformers 2 specifically but one as well. I actually was bored to tears. Offended as hell as some of the character archetypes and pissed off that the movie focused on some idiot teens and not the transformers themselves. Biggest hyped and vile movie of all time.

I'm never going to confuse anyone here for a movie critic, but I will say that Donnie Darko was straight-up annoying.

I agree Avatar was not a very good movie the only semi redeeming feature was the soldier's leader because he was a bad-ass.

At the moment the most over-rated movie I can think of is Inception.

It was a good movie and the cast were excellent, but it was not anything special by any means.
Hearing people say it's a extremely clever/intelligent movie and a 'Masterpiece' gets me riled.

If you've seen enough sci-fi movies Inception is an amalgamation of alot of other (arguably better) films. Also the CGI was terrible.
