If I was going to say why assholes pitch a fit about stuff like this that's pretty much harmless to the world at large it's because of a simple problem that has plagued the gaming community at large: "ownership." Fans have the idea that they somehow "own" Tracer, that she's their character and they get to dictate how she should act due to preconceived notions. As such any time there is something the creators do that does not conform to that it creates a dissonance within fans. This isn't "their" Tracer, it's not the character "they" envisioned, this can't possibly be right, the creators are wrong! It's just an extension of a problem gamers refuse to address.
