The really funny thing is both games are pretty much the same.
Oh no you didn't!!!

Seriously though, Bad Company 2 is the closest battlefield has gotten to CoD and even then there's a big difference in multiplayer. Bigger maps, vehicles, squad based gameplay (in an ideal world), different game modes (except for squad death match), more players per team, MEDICS THAT CAN REVIVE PLAYERS, no killstreak bonuses etc. As for drawing comparisons between Cod and other battlefield games like 2142... forget about it.

or a COD game set in a slightly advanced age of weaponry.
So basicly Homefront but with no story, shorter campaign, even worse voice acting and double the price tag?

What is he basing this on? Why couldn't Battlefield 3 sell 3 times as much as a game released 6 years ago, when the game market wasn't as big as it is today?

There's nothing that can dethrone CoD, it's like WoW. It's not about the game, it's the name. If a game has Call of Duty in it's title, even if it's a toilet cleaning simulator, there are millions of people that will buy it without thinking, it's just the way their minds work.

What's interesting is which game will be better, and that is undoubtedly BF3. And that's what's important, right??

My 2 cents: On PC, BF3 will sell a lot more. On console? Probably not.

Regardless after my only 2 CoD games (MW2, BlOps) I'm not buying another one. And I think there's plenty of CoD players looking for something else, BF3 might be it. I'd also like Crysis 2 to take some players on consoles away from CoD... just cuz. The CoD regime needs to end! lol.

Call of wha-?

I thought it stopped being relevant after Infinity Ward fell apart and Black Ops came out.

Activision's been reduced to releasing map packs for it.

Don't see any fresh ideas for that franchise coming out anytime soon.

I don't really care if CoD is more popular as long as the CoD players don't start playing BF and demands that BF should be more like CoD/CS >.<

Here I go again...

"It is I! Clairvoyant gypsy Pachter! King of Stating-The-Fucking-Obvious! I predict that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will beat Battlefield 3! Because it's Call Of fucking Duty! Never mind that everybody and their unborn twin sisters gathered that this would be the case! I was the first person to announce it! So it will be so! Profit is more important than quality! You people listen to ME!!"

Yeah, I've replaced intelligent humour for swearwords. Sue me.

I really don't care whether Battlefield 3 becomes more popular than COD I care whether I enjoy the game or not and maybe everyone else should too.

to gamers yes. But to the masses, they lap it up because its like a B-movie you know exactly what your going to get, your likely to enjoy it for a while. And all their friends will have it. Which is a shame since they keep pumping out crap xD
Yay for sheeple consumers deciding what mediocre-grade games get saturated into the market.

Call of duty is for a certain kind of gamer... they want pre-made rules and matches and don't want to have to think beyond "shoot shoot shoot hahahhahahha". In short its the American dream. Battlefield however gives you a sandbox type game that says that if you want to camp in a building for 3 hour unseen sniping? sure why not... if you want to run around and n00btube like mindless cod fan boys? sure why not. If you want to fly a jet upside down and buzz unsuspecting players and then land (also upsidedown) on a tank then hell yeah go for it!!! BF's most amazing saving grace is the lack of cheap impossible knife kills and stupid aimbots, halo and cod can keep there unrealistic and slightly n00bish form of game play and BF3 can rule as the best most dedicated, most fun and realistic group based actual war game out there.
