I loved the show and I can't wait for season 2.

Also I nearly died laughing at this part.

Warning some not safe for work content.

I just got into this show, too. I love it. I wonder if Garterbelt will ever get lucky with Brief.

The episodes thus far have been split into two mini-episodes, about ten minutes each. Perfect for watching between classes or when on the bus. Good times.

Yeah, I like PSG, it's completely over the top and FUBAR. Also, I freakin' LOVE Chuck, he constantly gets the shit kicked out of him but he's happy anyway. Plus, his evil grin is wonderful.
I swear Chuck was based off Gir some from Invader Zim

Yeah, I love that show. Very refreshing.

It has some boring periods further out into the series, but it's good nevertheless.

Quite frankly I LIKE it! Well ok the show may have it ups and down but when it come out on DVD (all episodes box set) I will buy it. I only buy anime DVD that I really like the show so much I have to own a physical copy of it.
I had read a lot of people complaining about the animation style which all I can say is STFU! The animation is a refreshing change and there are countless animation styles so I don't see why this animation should be condemn. As for the adult theme again it different since it's not like Shonen or other types which again just watch those if you don't like the fart and mature content.
All I can say is make sure you watch episode 6 asap. It rules!!! (See that I did there? :p)

Transformation wise, I like good ol' Panty and Stocking, but Scanty and Kneesocks aren't exactly bad either. Think I'm cosplaying as Stocking's transformation either this year or the next though.

And yeah, no other style would fit this kind of story, plus it's refreshing if you watch a lot of anime.

It's made by Gainax. The same studio that brought you Evangelion and Gurren Lagann. They were in the poorhouse at around the time of Evangelion (The "Gendo Pose" was actually a cost-cutting method so that they don't have to animate Gendo's mouth when he's speaking). Now they make stuff like this as if it's a declaration of "WE CAN NOW DO WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT". That said, I really need to find time to watch this.

Oh, and those of you who think the names are weird, just take a look at Dragon Ball it did that in the 80's:

Mr. Briefs (Bulma's Dad)
Bulma (based on the Japanese pronunciation of "Bloomers")
Trunks (Bulma's son)
Bra (Trunks' Sister)

Also, what the fuck is up with the title?
Those are the names of the characters. Panty, the one on the left has a pair of panties that turns into gun, yeah you read that right. Stocking, the one on right has stockings that turn into swords. Garterbelt is a black priest and I assume the name is just to keep with the theme.
Just when you think animationcan't sink to new lows. I'm going to bookmark this thread for reference the next time someone says "why do people insult me for saying I like anime?".
Care Bears

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I want you to take time to reflect on how are culture is just as stupid with stories and titles.

All things have their oddities.

Books
Music
Games
Anime
Cartoons
Manga
Comics
Cards
Movies
TV Shows
etc

So when you go and use "Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt" as your excuse to insult someone for liking anime, just remember that most likely, wether you want to accept it or not, someone can call you out on liking something to. And all they have to do is list one thing.

You like music? Peacock by Katy Perry. Oh, you don't listen to pop/Katy Perry? Well, you seem to not care that anime, like music comes in various genres to appeal to different people, so why should they care what music you do and do not listen to?

In Dragon Ball's defense, most of those names had to do with Akira's poor memory.

So he used commonplace things to remember the names, like how Gohan and Goku are names of rice meals.

Nurse, we need a sense of humour here, stat!

I think it's great to see the medium doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm especially happy to see an animation studio try something new, fresh, and different instead of parroting the same tropes. Not that I'm complaining about the traditional moe anime and gundams, just happy to see some alternatives.

Yeah, Akira Toriyama was weird with names. Gohan's daughter? Pan (not the cooking instrument, it's bread in Japanese). Goku's rival? Vegeta (contracted form of Vegetable, perhaps?). Strongest man in the world? Mr. Satan (you know him as Hercule, probably a cultural thing).

The name alone is enough to put me off. I don't want to have to explain that to anyone who comes around to my house and sees it in my DVD collection, I'd sooner show guests hardcore porn.

Piccolo - Piccle or maybe Piccolo flute.

Kakarot - Carrot
Broly - Brocly
Emperor Pilaf, heh.

And so on. Does make the show quite interesting.

You do know that Powerpuff Girls was originally called Whoopass Girls and intended for a much more adult audience?

You can still see little signs of this whenever the creators of Powerpuff Girls revolt. They imlied a character got raped in prison once. I actually had to find the episode online after I saw someone watching it, just to make sure I really had seen what I thought I saw.

Panty and Stocking is anime for people who hate anime. Bringing up the show in any discussion that drifts into anime-bashing territory will more likely than not illicit similar responses.
