This is extremely true. None of your have any appreciation for good pacing and suspense. You have been addicted to the notion that horror movies are fast paced gore sprees. I am saddened that this revival of Hitchcockian horror was poorly received by some.
I know one kid who hated it because it wasn't scary. I asked for an example of a part that was supposed to be scary but wasn't, he told me:
"There was a part where there was a noise behind a door, a character opened it, and nothing was there"
I facepalmed, and mentioned that it's supposed to build tension, but he really didn't give a crap.
EDIT: Not saying everyone who doesn't like the movie is like that, just providing an example.
