You're all stimulus-addicted children who have no idea what you're talking about.
This is extremely true. None of your have any appreciation for good pacing and suspense. You have been addicted to the notion that horror movies are fast paced gore sprees. I am saddened that this revival of Hitchcockian horror was poorly received by some.
I know one kid who hated it because it wasn't scary. I asked for an example of a part that was supposed to be scary but wasn't, he told me:
"There was a part where there was a noise behind a door, a character opened it, and nothing was there"
I facepalmed, and mentioned that it's supposed to build tension, but he really didn't give a crap.

EDIT: Not saying everyone who doesn't like the movie is like that, just providing an example.
Can you tell us what parts are ACTUALLY supposed to be scary then?
I don't know, I haven't seen the movie. I'm not saying it's scary, I'm saying my friend has no idea what's supposed to be scary.

Fear, like beauty, is subjective.

Well, true. I do know some people that may be jumping out of their seat from a scene that isn't scary, but sometimes it's not really meant to be scary. Just a tension-builder. I also know a few people who probably thought the movie as a whole isn't scary.

I'll form my own opinion when I get around to seeing it.

Well, i saw "Paranormal Activity" on friday night..

Actually thought it was a pretty effective little chiller. Of course fear is subjective, but this one had a couple of moments that raised the hair on the back of my neck...

I do think that the ending stank of cheeseball Spielberg though. i much prefer the original ending to the theatrical one Mr. Dreamworks suggested.
