Iv'e heard a lot of stories about others having games they wanted to keep sold by their parents, and i have had friends that had the same situations.
Never did I htink it would happen to me, but then i get home ot find all my PSX and PS2 games have gone! I ask my mother if she knows the whereabouts of my games, and she tells me she sold them to somebody. Now i plan to track that person down and get my games back, but thats for another time. The fact she took my memories and sold them is downright unbelievable.
So who else has had this happent to them? Have you had your old games sold without your knowledge or permission?
EDIT: thankyou guys so much for the condolences
A bit of background info i should add. Yes im 17 and a minor, and many of the games would have been gifts, that still means they are my possessions. Its the lack of communication and broken trust thats the issue. My family is well off, so money was not a reason, and as has been said in a couple posts, you would get scrap for the PS2 games.
As for playing them, i enjoyed nothing more than going back to my old games and reliving the fun! I did it every couple of days, just to remember some old titles. I spent all of last week playing crash bandicoot, and was about to go play Tony HAwks: Pro Skater 3 when i couldnt find it. My games are kept on a shelf, in my room neatly organised.
Hope that helps a bit!
EDIT 2: Also, while it was a selfish act by my mother, and not very thoughtful, i love her very much and she is in no way a bad parent. I couldnt have asked for a better mum, its just that this one incident is a bit unjustified. So no, my mum is not a terrible parent, she has just made one bad decision.
Also, her reasoning was that my little step-brother never played them. This confused me as they are not his. I dont know how my mum pulled that out of her arse, so now im a even more outraged!
