I enjoyed the 'Faces Of Meth' that the page had listed than more the nachos story.

Still pretty funny though.

I, for one, always test shit that my kids are going to eat and therefore am entitled to every litigation known to man.
I just looked at that faces of meth thing and something struck me... How did they get them to pose for before and after shots?! Advertise; "Thinking of trying meth? come get your photo taken so we can do a before and after when we haul you in later!"

OT: Its more the parents fault, but hey, why blame yourself when you can blame someone else and get paid for it!

This is what winds me up about certain people. Sue over anything and never take any responsibility for themselves.

Christ, I could have sued the NHS Trust I'm studying at for the incident last week, got a needle stick injury off of a used suture needle that the surgeon was careless with, and as a result, had to give a blood test (result of which I get tomorrow, so fingers crossed), get a lecture off some patronizing f@#k in occupation health and on top of that, the pain that bloody well caused.

Did I sue? No. Why? Shit happens people! Learn to deal with it and just get on with life.

My god.. Are Americans not taught to take responsibility for their own being?
Some of them are. I was.

My parents would've cleaned me up and told me to be more careful next time and sent me on my way. It's parents these days that don't. They are just sort of...lazy. And many kids have gotten to where they know that they will get what they want if they kick and scream enough.

The difference is my parents grew up in a time when they weren't entitled to anything really, and they didn't think they were (they're over 50...I'm 20). Thus, I was brought up in the same mindset.

This kind of thing sickens me and I hate it when parents do this. It makes me want to hang my head in shame.

You think that's bad? Wait until the parents actually win. It happens. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald%27s_Restaurants]

That said, there are plenty of stupid people all over the world, including your country. Not just in America. So can we put away the sweeping generalizations please?
If you walk into a lawyer office with that lawsuit, you will get laughed out of the building.. By everyone, even the companies coffee boy.

Dammit, I want some nachos now...

I really don't see how this warrants a lawsuit. It was an unanticipated accident that caused the scalding. It's not like some Disney employee purposely tripped the kid.

Well, I?m out guys. If this is what?s cool now, I think I?m done. I no longer have any connection to this world. I?m gonna go home and kill myself. Goodbye, friends. -Eric Cartman

To be clear to people who didn't read the article, we're not talking about the nachos contained more jalapenos than what the braindead spawn was used to, the report says the fake cheese was scalding hot. Remember the lawsuit where a woman needed skin grafts because of how hot McDonalds coffee was? This is something similar.
...at least i think it is. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just mild tongue burn and that the parents are blowing it out of proportion. Hell, my faith in people is so low i wouldn't be surprised if the parents used a lighter to make the cheese hot enough to scald the kid so that they'd have an excuse to sue.

"We have to make sure to constantly monitor the cheese! Parents will allow their children to spaz out in their chairs so much that they fall over and of course we all know that nacho cheese always lands in the face of a falling child!"

stuff like that happens a lot, that's why they put 'CAUTION: HOT' on cups of tea/coffee and on apple pies at McDonalds, someone sued them because they burned themselves on them.

Who doesn't love hot nachos?

Also, look at the date when the accident occured: March 14, almost a fucking year ago.

Live and let live...
"Really, Mom, I'm fine. Look, my face is perfectly healed, it doesn't even hurt. Can I go back to school now? I hear that they're learning the alphabet... no? We have to go to court again? I guess I don't really need to learn to count anyways".

This honestly doesn't surprise me. People have been suing for this crap for quite some time. This is why companies now have portions of their budgets devoted to settling this sort of thing.

We are not. We are currently hoping to let the government to take care of everything, while we sue random people.
But universal healthcare you do not want...

OT: I was sort of hoping this would be about some really sexy nachos starring in a Disney movie, and that the parents considered it obscene.
Know all those "stupid American" jokes? They exist for a reason...
