If you get a learners' permit, it's only legal in the state you got it in. You need one to learn how to drive (unless you go to something like a driving school.) I don't think it's possible to get a permit or license from a state other than your state of residence. So going over to another state to learn how to drive is illegal. Even if it was legal, it would be somewhat pointless, since you would have to wait to get your license in your home state. Once you do get a real license, it's legal wherever you go in the US, regardless of your age.Mad Maniac with axe-firing chainsaw said:I'm learning to drive. Sorry to you people under 17 (or even if your older but in the wrong country/state.)
This brings me to a question. I understand that some states in America have different driving rules and ages. If you're under the legal age for learning to drive in your state of residence in America, is it illegal to learn to drive in another state where you'd be over the legal age if you lived there?
OT, I just finished adding Scheme and Prolog to my repertoire of programming languages (why? WHY?). I'm currently taking a crash course on auto restoration on my 300ZX. I don't think I'm really learning anything new this summer, besides those.
