I'm learning to drive. Sorry to you people under 17 (or even if your older but in the wrong country/state.)

This brings me to a question. I understand that some states in America have different driving rules and ages. If you're under the legal age for learning to drive in your state of residence in America, is it illegal to learn to drive in another state where you'd be over the legal age if you lived there?
If you get a learners' permit, it's only legal in the state you got it in. You need one to learn how to drive (unless you go to something like a driving school.) I don't think it's possible to get a permit or license from a state other than your state of residence. So going over to another state to learn how to drive is illegal. Even if it was legal, it would be somewhat pointless, since you would have to wait to get your license in your home state. Once you do get a real license, it's legal wherever you go in the US, regardless of your age.

OT, I just finished adding Scheme and Prolog to my repertoire of programming languages (why? WHY?). I'm currently taking a crash course on auto restoration on my 300ZX. I don't think I'm really learning anything new this summer, besides those.

I've been downhill skiing for 10 years and I'd like to learn how I've managed to be lucky enough to survive my many spectacular crashes without any bodily harm.

Mine: I took up juggling,
how many balls can you juggle at once (no giggling children)

i can only do the basic 3 :( i tried 4 and almost gave the cat a heart attack XD

hmm, i was gonna take up piano again, so i guess i'll be doing that? ^-^
Solo, 3 but I'm getting better with 4. With an extra person then 8 is our current best. Mind me asking if you've managed any seperate tricks? The most annoying one I've tried (I do it once in every five attempts or so), is throwing it over your back and regaining control... I normally end up hitting my back and dropping everything (My cats just stay out of my room now =P)

I guess I could add Urbex as a hobby. I really enjoy photography, prefering architecture as a focus, so I took up Urbex. The general description is gaining access to areas where few people will ever see again or to area which are otherwise hidden/locked, and to photograph the place you visit (Explores include bunkers, live working sites, anything underground, air raid shelters, industrial sites and military sites).

This can usually qualify as trespassing, and different states/governments will have varied approaches to the classification of trespassing on property. NOTHING is broken into, you simply find a way in without having to smash or break in, and nothing is generally looted (Just get the photos).
It's probably the most exciting and interesting (learning the historical side of something you would otherwise just pass by without a second glance) hobby I've ever been invoved with. There is always the chance of being caught, danger of the buildings/structures or the fact you don't know what could be around the next corner in most places. If anyone actually thinks they could be interested, note that it can be a serious hobby, and that it's advised you try and find others in your area through websites and try to have someone with you incase you do end up falling through a floor or getting lost (The latter is serious in cata's, especially when you read news over people dying through lack of preperation and starving/other injuries).

I'm pretty damn good at ignoring people.

You think it's easy, but it's hard blocking the words and not reacting to the words that get through.

Especially when your whole town is full of smart-ass comedians.

I'm learning juggling, can do 3 balls pretty well now.

I'm also trying to find out how to do that thing where you roll a coin across your knuckles, damned if I know how to do it and I can't find anywhere that shows you how. If anyone can give me some pointers that'd be great.

So it's basically urban exploring with a camera, sounds fun, I might get into it, any web sites you would recommend?

I'm gonna keep learning juggling. No matter how much you know, you can always get better. I think that's the best and worst thing about juggling.

I can do five balls, (though not very well) but I'm more interested in some of the awesome three-ball combos you can do. There are heaps of them, and they look so good.

And I'm tyring to learn to ride a unicycle. Completely useless as a mode of transportation, but so much fun. It just seems like the sort of thing a person should be able to do.

I can do a few tricks with devil sticks, diablos and poi, but I'm not really great at any of them. They all take a lot of concentration to perfect tricks.

Without trying to sound like I'm advertising it anywhere, I prefer using NWEX [http://www.nwex.co.uk] because it's based around my area. Otherwise, I'd advise 28 Days Later would be suitable, due to it having a larger member base... just don't expect a warm welcome on that site (The term elitist doesn't cover it enough).

If you wanted a warmer welcome, NWEX is probably your best bet, but you should know there's a community for Urbe in Australia, but it is primarily draining in some of the towns from what I've read. Eitherway, sign up to a site, look around and make a new thread about yourself joining, and your interest. Anything else you wish to know (Anything more specific), feel free to message me.
Good luck.

Learning to... live.

Nah, I'm teaching myself a little music theory at the moment. Also, working at a theater has made me a little proficient in being a stage hand and tech assistant, so that's always fun to know.

Lots of people seem to like juggling, I taught myself as a kid and don't do it very often anymore, but I do pick up the balls every now and again, usually if I'm feeling a bit stressed. Always cool to try out some tricks.
I get behind a drum kit whenever I can but I'm not that good so I suppose I'l always be learning that.
And I'm about to embark on learning Java/C++ (university beckoning me at 21 and it's compulsory on my course. Fun!)
