That's right Patrick Swayze is dead, read the link for more infomation.
Now in my experience most of the escapist don't care when a celebrity dies, however Mr.Swayze starred in Donnie Darko which I feel is reason enough to remember him.

So anyone else care?

EDIT; also if you have yet to see Donnie Darko I suggest you do so right now, regardless of what you are doing go and see it.

While I must admit i will have to think for a while to put his name into connection with movies and there like I have seen and probalby liked, while he is a celebrity, dying is still nothing that should go unnoticed if you were remotly knowing that person.

Rest in peace, Sir. Your presence will certainly be missed by many.

While obviously this is a very sad time for family/friends/fans of Patrick Swayze, 3 people die every second; where's the thread for them :p

You know, I've heard his name like a million times, but I think this is the first time I've actually seen his face.
Same here, that name is incredibly familiar to me, but I can't remember seeing him in something.

How have you never seen Patrick Swayze before? Roadhouse? Dirty Dancing? Red Dawn? Ghost? More recently (and slightly more disturbingly) Donnie Darko?

He'll be missed. He was awesome in his prime.

Patrick Swayze, the crown prince of the 80's. And the 80's spirit dies with him.

So long, Swayze throat-rip.

Pretty much this. I've never seen dirty dancing myself but I've heard enough of it from various women about Swayze in it. Also I caught the ending of Ghost a few nights ago on TV in the UK. I sense a lot of Unchained Melody being played over the next few days.

Well obviously not (it's almost there though...), but I can't remember someone if they haven't done something awesome/cool/important/funny?some fifth option worth my notice and Donnie Darko's one of my favourite films.
