While obviously this is a very sad time for family/friends/fans of Patrick Swayze, 3 people die every second; where's the thread for them :p
Very few people mean anything to more than a few close relatives and friends. Mr Swayze was one who touched many. Thus, he gets a thread.

Even though he was expected to die in the near future, his death still comes unexpected. R.I.P. Patrick Swayze.

How have you never seen Patrick Swayze before? Roadhouse? Dirty Dancing? Red Dawn? Ghost? More recently (and slightly more disturbingly) Donnie Darko?
Nope, never seen any of them.
Heard of the majority, though.
Don't feel too bad, I've seen only Dirty Dancing.

And most of the things I remember about that movie was "I've... haaad... the time of my liiifeeee.... And I owe it all to youuuu..." and so on.

Didn't plan on it, really.
I mean, it has "Dancing" in the title.
How manly could it be?

0 out of 5 lumberjacks.
Again, if it makes you feel better - I always hear that music and watch the "dancing" scene. Then I get bored after 10 seconds.

Just nostalgia.

I'm just waiting for him to go to some woman using a potting wheel and reenacting the scene from Ghost.

Rest in peace.

I must admit, this surprised me immensely. Of all the celebrities in Hollywood, I expected Swayze to live a rather long time, seeing as he's always seemed pretty damned healthy.

Such a shame. He will be missed.

Well to be fair to them they weren't in Donnie Darko I don't think.
He wasn't special even though he was famous.

...however Mr.Swayze starred in Donnie Darko which I feel is reason enough to remember him.
I for one must agree.
I'll also remember Red Dawn, Ghost, and try to forget Dirty Dancing.

You know, I've heard his name like a million times, but I think this is the first time I've actually seen his face.
Same here, that name is incredibly familiar to me, but I can't remember seeing him in something.
I third that notion.

Bad year for celebrities.
Agreeed, there's been a lot of celebrity deaths this year, and it's a real shame.

The films I most remember him from where Ghost and The Outsiders, and well, those are some of my favorite movies.

May he rest in peace.

(He was in Donnie Darko?I haven't seen that movie yet,but I might...)

Wow. With the exception of Dirty Dancing, the rest are must sees. Every guy who's ever dreamed of being a badass should have seen Roadhouse at least once.

Can't believe you didn't mention Point Break! His best work! ;_;
What? With Keanu Reeves playing the most unconvincing undercover cop ever? He clearly hadn't learned how to filter out Ted "Theodore" Logan at that point. Besides, there is nothing manly about a blonde Swayze, even if it is a heist movie.
