As stated in the title, this question does not pertain to console users. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's been officially announced that Mass Effect 3 won't be on Steam. However, judging by EA's recent actions, all indications are pointing to ME3 being absent from Steam. If so, will you still buy it? Why or Why not?

I will, and I bet most other people will as well. Even the people who say they are going to 'boycott' it.

EDIT: WOW. Guess I've been using steam for too long. I literally forgot you can buy physical copies of games :S

Yeah, I guess lots of people will do that.

I'm not totally sure how it all works, but if I can import my Shepard from ME/ME2 to the non-steam ME3 then I will have no problem with it. If I can't, I'll cry then get the ps3 version. But I hope not. I've grown quite attached to my Shepard over these past two amazing games. :)

I think I'd wait until I could get it second hand, just to annoy EA.

I'll wait for it to pop up second hand in Game or something. I hope enough people do the same and EA realise that Steam is a good way to sell games.

Honestly, I no longer care about the whole Origin thing. Its just another program that will be running in the background when I play certain games... Its not like my computer can't handle it, its not like its a massive download (like 30 MB?)... I personally don't see it as a big deal. Definitely not enough to stop me from buying games that I want to play.

However, if it isn't on Steam, I probably won't be buying it. Simply because, I bought the first Mass Effect for about $10 and the second for $15. Steam's Madness Sales just can't be beat.

I'll buy it as long as it's not on Origin; InB4 OMFG DE ORIGIN HATERZZ!1!!!1, I don't really care about DRM or having it take up part of my hard drive. My problem would, however, stem from the fact that I'd have competition. I don't have Origin, but if it's anything like Steam (Which I doubt), there will probably be pop-ups and stuff like that, which I really don't need, because I'll probably be yelled at by my friends (OMG peer-pressure!) for using it.

And if there's multiplayer, I doubt some of my friends will download it, because they may think Origin is the root of all evil. If you won't be needing Origin, that works too, just as long as they don't lie about it like they did with BF3 on Steam.

Already have my copy pre-ordered at Gamestop, and there is nothing anyone can say to me that will make me change that. I prefer getting my games as discs, with the only things I've actually gotten on Steam being the first Mass Effect(since it's pretty much impossible to find in stores on the PC now and I had to sell my 360 so my original copy of Mass Effect went with it) and TF2 since it was free.

Well I did that between a Steam copy of ME1 to a retail copy of ME2 so I highly doubt it'll be different with ME3.

How are you gonna get a PC game second hand? No store will sell used PC games.

I'll borrow it off a friend, then.

Well if that's the case then I guess I'll probably purchase a hard copy. I really don't feel like downloading Origin, honestly. But I'll do anything to get my Mass Effect 3. I'm so excited for this game.

No. I try to limit what I have on Steam. Trying not to keep all my eggs in one basket and all that.

And besides, if I really wanted to use Steam with it, I'd just use the "add non-Steam game" thing.

Still won't buy it when it launches though. Since I won't pay $60 for a PC game from a publisher who stated 4 damn years ago [http://www.digitmemo.com/articles/686/ea-boss-says-games-too-expensive/] that games are too expensive and $60 is a ridiculous price to charge for games yet has done absolutely nothing to fix the problem.

Buying it retail anyway. I always prefer retail, unless it's a lot cheaper as digital (like on Steam-sales, where you get it for like half the price of retail).

I would absolutely love to buy it on Steam, but even before talk of Origin I was really considering buying the collectors edition which isn't steam-compatible in the first place.

I'll definitely buy it regardless, but I sure as hell hope I don't have to use Origin.

Yup.

They've got me by the short-and-curlies on this one. I'm buying it come hell or high water.

Heck, they could add always-on DRM and I'd still pony up the cash.
