Well I certainly won't buy it straight away... we'll have to wait and see just how shit origin is. (I'm guessing Mass Effect 3 will be running through origin, right?)

Yep. Even if the DRM involved me having to sing a convincing rendition of "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General" before I'm allowed to install it (not a bad idea actually), I'll still get it. I'd be dissapointed if it doesn't end up on steam though...

I want it on Steam, I really do, but I will buy it anyway. It's a must-have for me.

Heck, they could add always-on DRM and I'd still pony up the cash.
This.

As much as I've stood fast against always on DRM (I was really looking forward to Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell and Diablo 3), if ME3 or Beyond Good and Evil 2 have always-on, I'd still buy them. I'd be annoyed about it, but I'd do it.

More OT: I never bought the first two games from Steam, since it is cheaper to buy PC games literally everywhere else except when they're doing the holiday sales. The first game I got from Amazon, the second from D2D, so maybe I'll get the third from Gamersgate? Keep things mixed up a bit.

Ultimately though I think I'll go with whichever place has the best pre-order bonuses.

Yes I will buy it, just not for PC. Was planning on picking it up for 360 anyway (that is where I have all my sheps, dangit, I can't just abandon them!), so even if it wasn't on steam, it wouldn't really effect me. Aw, the joys of being both a console and a PC gamer.

Yes but only for the multiplayer... yeah right :D

I'll buy it at some point for sure, and on PC it really doesn't matter what bloatware they hang on it, it can be removed.

It's not on Steam? The Fuck!?!?

... ah screw it, I'm still buying it. It's Mass Effect! And I love Mass Effect

Edit: I now realized that you meant digital copy. I never buy digital copies ... so yeah, still gonna buy it.

Since I won't pay $60 for a PC game from a publisher who stated 4 damn years ago [http://www.digitmemo.com/articles/686/ea-boss-says-games-too-expensive/] that games are too expensive and $60 is a ridiculous price to charge for games yet has done absolutely nothing to fix the problem.
Search for some webshops, I can easily get my games 25% or a third cheaper if I buy it at the right place. I avoid brick-and-mortar stores for the most part, and stay away from the big chain shops. I usually buy my PC games for ?35, and console titles ?45 or ?50, all new.

Ah I have yet to finish the second one! But Yeah I bought the other 2 on disk for my PC so no problem in my opinion, just a little less convenient.

I'm not totally sure how it all works, but if I can import my Shepard from ME/ME2 to the non-steam ME3 then I will have no problem with it. If I can't, I'll cry then get the ps3 version. But I hope not. I've grown quite attached to my Shepard over these past two amazing games. :)
in my experience they use existing game files, outside of steam entirely, so should be fine.

OT: i will get it on steam, or a physical copy providing it does not FORCE me to play through origin...

Sadly I must admit that I'd buy ME3 if it was only released on floppy disks, sold only in a backwater market in Nigeria.

Nope. Steam's basically the only place where I still have 1 and 2.

And I don't want to use the same Sheppard as my first playthrough on xbox...

as long as i can transfer my game date from ME2, why would i care whether i buy it from steam or not?

i have a physical copy of ME1 and a steam copy of ME2. im not loyal to steam, im loyal to whoever sells it for less money

Well I did that between a Steam copy of ME1 to a retail copy of ME2 so I highly doubt it'll be different with ME3.
Well if that's the case then I guess I'll probably purchase a hard copy. I really don't feel like downloading Origin, honestly. But I'll do anything to get my Mass Effect 3. I'm so excited for this game.
Same, I've had my copy pre-ordered for about 4 months now. Still got a ways to go, but holy crap it's gonna be awesome. You gonna get the regular version or the collector's edition?

Honestly, I'm buying a physical copy since I don't trust digital copies. The only thing I actually use Steam for is Bastion and the random indie-game demo on the days I'm bored to death, and I turn off Steam immidiately after I'm done playing. Doing the same with Origin doesn't strike me as something difficult.

Then again, Steam never did seem as much good, unless you are gonna buy/demo indie-games. All the games on Steam cost more than they do in stores (subject to change after where you live I guess)...
