Ahh, alright then!matnatz said:Well, Black and White 2 runs with lag. Basically I'm just asking for any games before 2006 no matter the requirements. You suggest the game, I'll check the requirements and save you the work.
Here's a list of games I really enjoyed. I'm not entirely sure if they are all post 2006, but it's kind of a rough list.
Baldurs Gate 1 and 2. Just a really good D&D RPG game. If you're not in to this sort of thing then don't bother, but if you are, pick the first one up. It's harder than the second, but it has a lot of story that you'll kinda be wondering about if you didn't play the first. The combat is actually very fun. A pretty hard game. Good role playing to boot.
Half_life 2. This game scales very, very well with system requirements while looking pretty decent on low settings to boot. If you like FPS games, grab it. At the least you can play some of the mods people have made out there. It should be pretty cheap now. I'm fairly confident it was made before 2006 as I graduated in 2005 and had it before I graduated.
Age of Empires 3. A solid RTS with a twist. It's a bit different than the other AOE games but it's very fun. The expansions add to this fun by adding different factions that play radically different than the first few that are kind of same-ish. I really enjoyed this a lot.
Doom 3. Some people liked it, some people didn't. It was just your run of the mill FPS with some spooky bits. Nothing dramatically scary, but it looks good and plays good.
Titan Quest. A great Diablo clone. A very, very solid game with a modding community that is actually pretty decent. The core of the game is fun and will last you quite some time if you like games like Diablo 2. It's linear, but the length of it makes up for it. 8 mastery choices (9 with the expansion) to choose from and you get two choices per character, one at level 2 and the other at, I think, 8. It's very customizable.
Anno 1701. A pretty good sim-esque RTS. It's a colony creation game with RTS elements. You can choose the victory conditions, set all sorts of parameters, and just have at it. I THINK this was made before 2006. Not really sure.
For MMO's, AO and DDO are both free, or will be free this summer. AO is much older but it's a pretty solid game while DDO came out in 2005 (I think) and is going free this summer. It should play on your computer. Both are pretty fun but they both feel kind of dated. The core of the game play is fun enough though.
UT2004 is a very good FPS game. Arena style shooting is always solid.
I hope this helped some
