Here's a little list of pre-2006 games I love:
- Half Life 1 and 2
- Starcraft-
- Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne (and all the previous Warcraft installments)
- Max Payne
- Red Alert 1/2
- Fallout 1/2
- Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
- Rollercoaster Tycoon 1/2
- Planescape: Torment
- Diablo 1/2
- Dungeon Siege 1/2
- Age of Empires 1/2/3 + expansions (I still prefer 2 with the expansion above all else)
- Monkey Island games (not sure how many there are of them, I just know I especially loved 2)
- Worms games (2 wins again)
- Unreal Tournament 99 (no, there are no other UT games, just Battlefield-like abominations, I don't consider those UT games)
- Quake games (I guess all of them, except Enemy Territory)
- Theme Hospital
- The Sims 1/2
- Simcity/2000/3000/4
I really could go on like that for a while. That list contains shooters, RTS, building sims, RPG's, hack&slash. All in all, plenty of stuff to keep you going.
