99% of people already own a tv so you can't really include the price in a console.Withard said:I use a mouse and keyboard set for $8 and chances are ill be headshotting more people than a $40 controller.omega 616 said:7) I wouldn't say it's cheaper, it depends on what you get. 250gb PS3 with uncharted 2 - £285, my pc (remember, low - mid performance) £330 then I had to buy a monitor (£90), mouse (£32), speakers (£50), keyboard (£10) and a game.
Monitor? Like a TV you buy it if you need it. Then again you can plug the PC up to the TV as well. Mate has his up to a 37" one. Also if thats the case then the speakers are not needed for certain TV's or Monitors.
The ORIGINAL point is that If you intend to play 2-3 games then a console is fine. If you intend to play ALOT of games like many people do you WILL be spending alot of money and it will cost more than a PC in the long run.
Using comebacks like "Console + Game = 200 LOL CHEAPER!" does not an argument make.
In fact the argument on price was already made a page back with a price comparison.
I didn't actually pay for my PS3 controller. On a separate note, on bad company 2 I have more headshots than body shots, although that is down to the guns recoil.
I have an old school tv so I can't hook it up to that and most people (I know anyway) have monitors for there pc's. So while it is possible I still think more people use a monitor.
Unless you compare a 360 and a pc, then the 360 is more expensive due to online costs. I see the PS3 being a damn site cheaper than a pc.
So my low end pc is still more expensive than my ps3, so whats the cost of a high end pc with a mouse and keyboard? (I ignored the monitor tv to help you out a little) £500? £600?
I looked at some kind of booster than cost over a grand, I would really hate to pay the bill on building the most expensive pc.
Not only are you buying games your buying pc upgrades, so that small saving on new games is being lost in that area. PS3 devs have make games to compatible with the hardware, I imagine pc devs are aiming for the most powerful hardware all the time but catering for the rest who can't afford to keep up with the tech.
Using an argument like "that isn't an come back 'cos I said so" isn't a good argument, either.
