lol at the op btw. PC gaming was dying for 10 years now and yet we still have pc games. I play games exclusively on pc and I NEVER tried to hump the disc drive, or any other part of my pc. Seriously, your post had offensive stereotyping! Not cool man.
me too. although i just bought an xbox 360 and a copy of borderlands, and i'm having a hell of a lot of fun. nothing will ever be as competitive as mouse+keyboard but trigger controls plus force feedback is just fucking satisfying!link_to_future said:Odd...I've heard people crying about this exact same thing for about 10 years now.
Yeah, maybe PC gaming is dying. But it's taking its damn time doing it, and I'm going to be sitting at the deathbed when it finally goes under.
They didn't because they had their asses kicked. Mayans weren't that special anyhow considering other places in the world and periods.Aurora219 said:I don't think any of them are true. The Mayans have been credited with the invention of irrigation, the calendar, architectural techniques, astronomy and mathematical works. Nearly a thousand years before the rest of the world.JWAN said:The world ended in the 1960's from global cooling
The world ended in they year 2000 from Y2K
PC gaming died in 2001
The Mayans were a bunch of lazy tossers
^ one of the above is correct
Im going with the tossers one because they just ran out of room on the rock, instead of going to the store and buying some gorilla glue to add onto it
PC gaming will not die out during our life time
If they were alive now, they'd probably have left the planet a while ago for some peace and quiet.
I've never been into a store that didn't have a pc section as large or larger than the other sections. Hell, its usually 2 rows to pc games while 1 row covers more than one console game section. This includes educational crap and such, but its there (and I assume selling because it's still there).geldonyetich said:Not that I agree that PC gaming is dying but, for future reference, World of Warcraft isn't a reason you can use to debunk that PC gaming may seem to be dying, World of Warcraft is a cause for why PC gaming may seem to be dying. Has nothing to do with the OT.Burst6 said:and also FPS games on the PC are better.
That depends on how you play it. On PC there are also MODS and prettier graphics. MODS will add extra hours, weeks maybe years to the gameShine-osophical said:Actually, the only reason I am getting the PS3 version is because (according to a friend who has it) the battles are more fast-paced, which is (with the exception of FFX) how I like my rpg battling.lacktheknack said:Losing out on the tactical view, aren't we?Shine-osophical said:...and let's not forget Dragon Age: Origins!!! (I am getting it for Christmas ... on the PS3 ... sort of shot my argument in the foot there didn't I?)
The PC version is better for strategists...
Also piracy is a reason sales tend to be low for the PC.elitepie931 said:If it is, it isn't going to happen anytime soon.
Edit: and just because shit isn't exclusive for the PC anymore doesn't mean it's going to die out as a whole, shit I'm already planning on getting a PC for gaming! Besides the only reason sales on games are going down on the PC is because it can be expensive to find/make a computer that can run games being released today and no one likes that so they buy it on a console instead.
I hate this argument most of all.... People thinking the ABILITY to upgrade means you MUST upgrade....JUMBO PALACE said:The fact that it takes so much money to constantly upgrade your PC just turns people off. I would LOVE to play so many of the amazing games on PC, but it's just too much money. console gaming is way more cost effective for most people.
I'm wondering if this is just an aussie thing. Back in the states or at least the city I live in (Chicago) LAN centers died out long long ago. They were all over like 8 years ago, but as the computers became more and more common they got phased out quickly, mostly due to it being ridiculously expensive. I remember places used to charge roughly $3 and as a teen in highschool 5 hours of play was well worth it and wasn't a hit in the pocket. But over time places charged more and more an the selection of games plummeted, the last LAN center I ever visited charged $7 an hour, which gets really expensive for anyone who wants a long play session and over like a year you would probably spend way more at a LAN center than buying your own PC.Hyperactiveman said:Pfft... If you spend anytime outside the internet going round locally and finding out what's really going on you'd know for sure.
From the amount of LANs I go to both around me and in the city I see higher numbers and packed to the rafters in PC event with the 16-25 year olds and console events seeing only half filled with piss ass Halo fanboys 12 years old and under.
From the looks of it when I go to the bi-monthly PC/Console LAN nearer the city center I see the number of Xbox owners dwindling more and the number of the computers section keeps climbing.
It might be true however that the average age for gamers is increasing and when those gamer gets older they see the potential for getting a job to pay for expensive system required parts for their PC.
I meant 1 game figuratively rather than literally, but I am surprised at your experiences because it's the polar opposite here.ItsAPaul said:I've never been into a store that didn't have a pc section as large or larger than the other sections. Now if you go to walmart, yes, the pc section is probably smaller since they seem to not carry anything older than 2 months in their pc games unless it sells stupidly well.
wow that's brutal in Australia it's like $3 an hourRednog said:[quote="Hyperactiveman" the last LAN center I ever visited charged $7 an hour, which gets really expensive for anyone who wants a long play session and over like a year you would probably spend way more at a LAN center than buying your own PC.
