Would people please stop doing this, drawing such a distinction between laptops and PCs? Laptops are PCs. They're just smaller and more portable. They are otherwise the exact same thing.DeeWiz said:in favor of "smart" devices and laptops,

It's implied that everyone who is in the market for a gaming console already has a television, and we're talking about the price for a dedicated gaming console.Alexridiculous said:It's not for everyone, but it's cheaper than it's ever been. Most would see it as a worthwhile investment as you can do stuff other than games on a PC.Zetion said:>PC`s Cheap to put together.
PS3 $299
Decent Gaming Rig 600-800. And thats for some low end PC.
Not to mention you're going to need a television for that PS3
And don't forget to add in the $1200 to $3000 (or more) for a decent 1080p TV to the console's price. There's a lot of people who still have their old standard def TV, and you just can't game on something like that. Then there's those of us who don't own a TV at all. You can't play a console without a screen, and TVs are a lot more expensive than monitors, partly because you sit a lot further back from a TV, so the screen size needs to be much bigger.Andy03 said:First thats your computer, so no need to buy a separate computer.Zetion said:>PC`s Cheap to put together.

Then upgrades. When you buy a PS3, you stick with what you get. And then you will have to buy the next one. (assuming there is a next one.) With a PC, you can upgrade the hell out of it. Not all at one time, mind you. Just pieces at a time.
And the games can be a lot cheaper.![]()
Can't disagree with that statement.LetalisK said:I never understood why people say PC gaming is dieing. Seems pretty asinine.
Maybe everyone is just jealous that we are the Gaming Master Race.
Erm, no. You'll be gotten rid of before MovieBob will ever be.mrhateful said:Can't disagree with that statement.LetalisK said:I never understood why people say PC gaming is dieing. Seems pretty asinine.

Also I think its important that we flame MovieBob so the escapist can get rid of him... I brought Premium membership to support Zero punctuation, NOT MovieBob.
Can you dot the I's with hearts?Woodsey said:Yes, it is thriving.
And Bob's video was constructed with poor logic and a lack of information (likely to support his own stupid conclusion).
And the Escapist's news room has taken to producing snide, uninformative and/or downright lying (possibly all 3) articles.
One more strike and I'll be writing the website a very stern letter with my new calligraphy set. Its got flowers on you know.
Thats assuming I would continue to flame.. no my good sir, that would just be moronic. I did mine and if enough does that then the escapist will get the message.LetalisK said:Erm, no. Well, Microsoft is going to take its sweet time to port gears of war. They sell the console and the game after all and they wont have anyone thinking "hey i'll just have to wait for a couple of months and then i can play the game on my PC and wont need to buy an Xbox!"Vault101 said:how ever Im not sure how easy porting is I mean why dont we have red dead redemption or gears of war 2? priacy?
The Witcher 2 is apparently launching with no copy protection whatsoever.Madman123456 said:Now, DRM would be a big fat target for anyone claiming that PC gaming is going to die. Counterargument would be that most DRM is useless and doesn't do anything at all. Wait a week or so and someone will have made a tool to get rid of it.
It'll be pirated to hell but still move enough units for CD Projekt to make happy gurgling sounds. Like a couple of other companies they focus on what they sell not vague proclamations of 'lost sales' and crying into their money bin.Danceofmasks said:The Witcher 2 is apparently launching with no copy protection whatsoever.
Let's see how well this particular no DRM experiment pans out, shall we?
Another bubble in the making, that. Very easy to oversaturate an easily satisfied consumer base.Ultratwinkie said:the explosion of the extra casual market is a game changer due to low production costs and high profitability.
Can you still get cases in beige? I haven't seen a new case in beige since... hrrrmmm... 01-02.rEvolution said:Its worrying that he describes them as "beige boxes"
Pfft. Games get pirated to hell regardless.RhombusHatesYou said:It'll be pirated to hell but still move enough units for CD Projekt to make happy gurgling sounds.
