I second that, DoW2 was a disgrace.
Aye was game itself was good but was waaaay too short and the skirmishes which should expand the games life were utter tripe, played 2 and went zzzzzzz

I've got Oblivion and Fallout for my PS, would it be worth it just for mods?
Yes, definetely. There are so many great mods out there, and if you're bored with the game even with all of the mods, you can try a total conversion.

And seriously, you can make a village in fallout. A VILLAGE!

[sub]I will not refund you even if you happen upon the tentacle rape mod I found for oblivion this morning[/sub]

I started a thread like this when I got my new Gaming PC. Loads of great suggestions. I bought the Valve pack. It is extremely great value. It comes with all the Half Life, Team fortress, Left 4 dead, Counter Strike games, and many more for £50. Get It.

as well as Stargate Resistance. It's quite cheap, and fun too.

If only you could have gotten your PC during December. Steam had some insane deals.

On Steam Borderlands is 50% right now. I don't really like the game but lots of people seem to like it. Although, Borderlands isn't really a game that highlights the advantages of a gaming PC.

Download Heroes of Newerth, it's in open beta so it's free to play, it's a MOA, liek Dota, well actualyl it's sortof a dota ripoff/remake, so if you ever played dota you will know this game well before you even start.

You have no idea how necessary it is that you get Team Fortress 2 this very instant. For anyone who wants to see why PC games are better, get TF2 immediately.

Anything by Valve, specifically Counter Stike, team Fortress 2, and portal.

Also if you want to see how great your computer really is, play the crysis demo.

As was said, any Bethesda, Valve or Bioware game (except ME1) are far better on the computer than on the console. Plus Total War series. Battlefield series.

Mount and Blade, try the demo, but the expansion with multiplayer, Warband, just released. Its a great indie PC game. Try it out.

Metro 2033 is supposed to really utilize the PC well, and supposed to be a fun game. I haven't played it due to lack of funds and because my computer is running a little low on specs right now.

Audiosurf, another fun indie game.

Any interest in MMO's? If so, obviously WoW, but Lord of the Rings online is fun, EVE takes a bit to get a grasp of but can be fun. Global Agenda is more like an arena style shooter game, but counts as an MMO, and its pretty fun.

Don't get COD:MW2, don't. Lack of servers is bs.

STALKER. You owe it to your life to play STALKER. It's like 5 pounds now and a fucking excellent game. I have been playing it since christmas non stop.... So yeah, get that.
I second this, I loved running around in the pitch black with bloodsuckers trying to eat me :D

I would recommend bioware's stuff too - Mass Effect 1 & 2 , Dragon Age etc.
Yes. Buy STALKER.
PC gaming cannot die while stalker exists. Which to get though... I started with Clear Sky, which is apparently the worst in the series. Shadow of Chernobyl is showing it's age, but you should play it first. And Call of Pripyat- only play that after SoC, since it carries on after the events of that game.

The Total war series is good fun, I have Medieval II and Shogun.

Half-life 2, of course. Get the orange box, it has portal and TF2 as well

And Supreme commander for stompy robots. The first one, since the second one is console fodder.

Tf2. Was the best 20$ I've ever spent on a game. The updates keep comming and the community is great. Also Fallout 3 is a good choice.

Civilization 4 + Beyond the Sword.
I was thinking of getting that off steam, is it true you take a civilisation from horse+cart to jet fighters? Does that take week-long games or what?

More like 5 hours or so, maybe even more. I honestly have no idea because when I'm playing Civilization looking at the clock doesn't even come to mind.

OT: Call of Duty 4 or Company of Heroes. The CoD4 community is still going strong and Company of Heroes is just an amazing game overall.

Jagged Alliance 1 & 2, the Robinson's Requiem Collection, Gothic, Dungeon Keeper 2, Theme Hospital.

Yes, they're old, but they're still fun, damnit!

Why is everyone saying Crysis to test/show off your PC? Am I the only one that actually thought that was a pretty awesome game? All three of them were pretty fun and awesome. A lot better than MW2...
