I would say Deus Ex Human Revolution if it comes close to being as good as the first one. And from those who played it from the previews and stuff it looks like it could come close.

But of the games that have actualy come out I would say Witcher 2 even though I haven't played it. It is the only PC game that came out this year that I really want to play but now it will have a console port. =D

I'd say The Witcher 2 for me so far, though there are a couple games I'm looking forward to.

Wasn't a perfect game by any means but in terms of portraying choice and consequence, in terms of narrative and storytelling, and in terms of visual aesthetics and style it's definitely one of my favourite rpg released in years.

My computer can't play anything past 2009 without having to lower the graphics to medium, so I'm a console gamer. But my choice I did have on the PC, because it was extremely optimised; portal 2. Best co-op I've ever played; I didn't like magicka much, because my friend went in and annihilated everything before I caught up. single play for portal 2 was pretty good, but the cave johnson parts where annoying, having to find that 1 specific wall that I needed. Arkham City will win for sure for me when it comes out though.

Witcher 2 is the best PC game this year so far.

Honarable mentions go to Portal 2 and DoW: retribution.

Before the end of the year, DE:HR and BF3 both should provide a good show and Guild wars 2 already has the 2012 GOTY guaranteed :p

2011's abominations so far are Dragon age 2 and Crysis 2. No prizes for guessing what caused this games to end up so bad: Console port sequels of true PC games (Dragon age was multi-platform but essentially a PC game).

Portal 2 is well... Portal 2. It lived up to what everyone ecpected of it and considering its herratige that was an almost impossible task.
Portal 2 didn't live up to being the artistic pinnacle of all human kind so we can descend into anarchy and madness now we've reached our greatest triumph. Apparently, I don't know, I'm still waiting for it to go on sale but that's pretty much all I heard up to it's release.

OT: There hasn't been a game this year that I've bought and haven't enjoyed, but I reckon that if they do some decent testing to iron out the major bugs then Skyrim has a good run for the win on this one. Although saying that if Battlefield 3 plays as good as it looks it could take a dash for the first place.

From this year's releases so far? Witcher 2, absolutely. Although when Skyrim is released it will definitely be taking the crown.

Since I played it on PC, Alice Madness Returns. Jaw-dropping art direction and the best hair tech with old-school 3D platforming, in addition to really cool level-specific mini-games. But most of all, that story goes from subtle with audio diaries and London interludes to HOLY SHIT around Chapter 4 and 5, where it all merges and reveals to the murder mystery happen leading to one of the most depraved plot twists. Plus, one of the best endings in a while.

Haven't played Witcher 2, still on Chapter 4 of Witcher 1.

The same as it was last year, only this time with an official release. Minecraft. There can be only one.

(Really hoping for 1.9 to be a focus on multi-player, de-bugged, optimised and a couple of competitive mode introduced. I think a capture the flag game could be a lot of fun. Might get rid of some griefers on SMP.)

There's nothing extreme about saying DA2 is a piece of shit. You devalue the term by using it in this way.
there is nothing wrong with disliking DA2, I don't have a problem with that, it's just there are some super extreme elitist snobs who hate it just for the fact of not being an "old school" throwback to classic baldurs gate era-esque type game

I have no individual problem with people disliking the game, at face value, but when you hate it just to hate on the fact of hating, that's when I was tossing up a flame shield there for the one of many who didn't mind dragon age 2 yet get flamed by it hardcore from the elitists.

Portal 2 so far. Bit.trip RUNNER and Dragon Age 2 were good too.

Haven't played any good PC exclusives lately. DoW II: Retribution had such a lazy single player campaign.

I'm gonna go with the only PC game that I was actually interested in, played and loved;

Dawn of War II: Retribution.

Definitely Shogun 2: Total War. That game may have revived that stagnating series.

I haven't played many 2011 games so far, the only one I remember and liked is Gemini Rue.

That will change when I finally get to play The Witcher 2 or Portal 2 though. From what I know now, I think The Witcher 2 is more likely to become my favourite game of the year. Skyrim could be a contestant too.

On the indie front, Terraria is looking good for GotY. Action-rpg with a Minecrafteque grid world, I've lost more time in it than any AAA game of late.

Still Portal 2 for me. Most of this year's releases have been all hype, no delivery.
I'm not really a PC gamer but definitely this. The sequal took all the good bits of the first one and multiplied it but 10. Great game and one that I think not only gamers would enjoy.

TW2. Only decent exclusive PC has gotten this year. Everything else has been multiplats or shit.

Out of everything being named, there has only been around two PC exclusives. Typically, PC game of the year is reserved for PC exclusives. Multiplat titles have the general goty title to compete for.
