All this goes to further my point. There's one thing trying its very best to kill PC gaming - and that thing is publishers.

Doesn't surprise me.

2K seems to hate PC players for some reason.
I think is due to piracy and the fact that the PC sales have been terrible.
Again, can't same thing be said about buying used for the console(unless the dlc cost then I can see a reason why not to release for the PC)?

Its a viscous circle that neither side seems to want to fix.
How CAN we fix it from our side?

Buy badly ported shovelware? That just invites them to put out more same quality crap.
Buy not buying or pirating the stuff.

Then logic would dictate that since no one is even bothering to pirate their shit, they make shitty stuff for the PC, and will start treating it better.

Of course this plan requires the people in charge to use logic, which I really doubt will happen.
Or, more likely; Stop porting/develop anything for the PC, seeing how they don't earn anything on it(doubt they will think it´s cause of there shitty ports)

If their goal is to find some way to just abandon PC development, theres nothing that can be done from the consumer's end. If people stop buying games, they're obviously pirates. If people stop downloading games, they're obviously getting them from some place else or theres obviously no interest in our games from the PC platform.

It's not as simple as that. 2K doesn't want to have to spend the money on long held bug fixes that have plagued the game since I believe it was made for the consoles and hastily converted to the PC. You have to make different graphic settings, the uses of different buttons entirely, and a whole lot of work that 2K just doesn't think is worth it.

Thanks for once again stabbing us PC gamers in the back. So I preorder a game and it crashed a few dozen times before I finished it, and they now won't even patch it?

I finished the game but didn't find any gamebreaking bugs so I don't know where the complaints come from, but not releasing a patch is an unbelievable dickmove.

Concerning no dlc I stand indifferent, buying them weren't going to happen anyway.

And both of those could be caused by 2K repeatedly screwing over PC gamers.

It is quite a VICIOUS circle.

I guess circles are hard to pour but I wouldn't call them viscous...

DLC is understandable, but not releasing a PATCH is ridiculous.

The largest thread ever spawned on the 2K forums was concerning the abominably low FPS on the physics engine for Bioshock. If you didn't notice it, no problem; but once you did see it, it could never be unseen. It ruined the game and a 2K rep blamed user machines.

But it wasn't user machines; it was every machine because it was the FPS cap in the game itself, there by design because consoles couldn't hadn't that many physics calculations a second without taking a huge hit to performance and it was never removed or raised for the PC.

Bioshock sales on PC were ok, Bioshock 2 was terrible because people learned how they would be treated. Only idiots like me actually bought the sequel whilst knowing the unresolved problems with the first.

Well at least I spelled viscous right.

Not even patching the game is a monumental dickmove! Then again i learned the hard way 2K's attitude to patching pc games with borderlands guess i should be happy they even bothered now. :/

Not even the patches! Really?!?! How does that work? It's their fault if they port the game from consoles to PC even though they are genetically made on computers!!
I think it works like: made on computers, made for consoles. Although i'm not sure i think its about how its coded and not the language or what platform. Once again, not very sure.

Oh noes :O...

But seriously,
A) It doesn't suprise me in the slightest and
B) I don't really care.

If it doesn't ever come out, there will be a bunch of third party teams working around the clock better then the company itself and probably add it.

We really should expect a company that once tried to compete with Madden NFL might not really be a on board with PC gamers. After all, despite WoW, TF2, Steam and all the other massive chunks that PC gamers still hold in the gaming marketplace. 2k clearly sees PC as a market not big enough for their full dedication.

XBox 360 is the wave of the future as they see it. Because you know foul-mouthed, teabagging XBL idiots would far more appreciate games like Bioshock than mature gamers. [/sarcasm]
Not only did 2k compete against Madden, they damn near beat it. If not for the NFL license acquisition for 2006, I think we would be looking at a very different market than we are today.

NFL 2k5 remains the best football game in my opinion.

OT: That's why I never bought it for the computer, bought their collecters edition for my PS3 then sold it when my PS3 decided to kill itself with the YLOD. Both were stupid decisions. Bioshock 2 was a bit of a disappointment, and I can't believe I convinced myself the collector's edition would be worth it. This is absolute nonsense. If 2K expects me to buy Bioshock Infinite they better show us some support.

Another viscous cycle: Stuff like this (and some abysmal ports I've played in recent years), more than anything else, motivates me to start pirating software. But the more I and others pirate, the more this sort of thing would happen.

But damnit, I haven't liked consoles since Intellivision. I'm a keyboard guy!!
