Different dev team, Infinite is going to be INSANE because it's back in the hands of the original creators.
Good point, things are looking a bit brighter then. I was really looking forward to Infinite too.

2K seems to hate PC players for some reason.
I think is due to piracy and the fact that the PC sales have been terrible.

Interesting statistic, however your regions appear to not quite be the best choices, but I might be reading it wrong.

1. Philippines
2. Greece
3. India
4. Indonesia
5. Croatia
6. Yugoslavia
7. South Africa
8. Malaysia
9. Lithuania
10. Romania

I don't think any of those are the countries to be comparing computer and xbox sales. Not exactly prime video game countries.

Ugh screw DLC. I'm sick of it. I paid $59.99 for the Digital Deluxe Version of Mafia II. $10 for an extra suit. Then they release $10 DLC for some free-roam mod only a few weeks after the game releases. If I didn't buy the dumb digital deluxe, I would have considered the DLC. Feel a bit ripped off about that, even though I'll admit it's my own fault.

I'm wary of games with DLC now... I only used to buy it on consoles since that was the only way to get new content for games. But on PC... It doesn't really fit. The game should have mod support so the community can continue making the game or be big enough anyways.

I would say that the game would make more money with mod support, as the company could focus on new games while the community supports its old game and advertises it, and they continue to sell copies. The company could reallocate the team working on DLC to work on new games!

But most games with DLC already have the DLC on the damn disc or install files and you just buy an unlock code. Or the DLC was content removed and now being added back in. Screw it.

If you want customer service, be a customer instead of a pirate. It will do wonders for the PC games aspect of our industry.

Well, the GFWL is the reason I didn't pick it up despite it being like $10 now. Now I'm especially glad I didn't bother.

Funny how this works in the complete opposite way for Valve, in that their console players get the shaft whilst PC gamers bask in free DLC and continuous support.
Blame Microsoft about that. Valve doesn't like to make its players pay for extra content, but Microsoft FORCES developers to make DLC cost so they get a little lot of money in their pockets.
true and hence why as soon as I get paid I am buying L4D/L4D2 again but this time on the computer. Great this cancels my idea of getting BS2 on the PC now. fuckcocks

Honestly, this doesn't surprise me. Most companies seem to be moving away from the console & PC markets being equals, and leaning one way or the other, fanbase be damned. Valve may be the exception to the rule, but then, they've ALWAYS been the exception to the rule.

That said, I'm sure glad I bought Bioshock 2... FOR THE PS3. SNAP!

...yeah, sorry, not cool, I know. I'll go sit in the corner.

This pisses me off.

I'm open to the idea that it takes work to make DLC for a PC-ported game when everything you have is on the Xbox, but no patch?

I wasn't planning on ever buying Bioshock 2, but it's the princible - first, 2K will do it. Then, some other company will have the same idea. I can't help but see another couple of comapnies go "Well, hey, if 2K can do it, so can we!"

Now, if they dare do this to Bioshock Infinite...

It is kind of surprising considering the big push they are giving to Bioshock 3.

I for one will definitely wait to purchase it until I find out if they patch any issues or offer any sort of support. I imagine this move lost them at least a few customers for their next title.

No surprise here. Nobody who has an ounce of sense bought the PC version, so they'd probably be spending more money porting the DLC than they'd earn selling it.

Exactly - one would think they could include the cost of patching the PC version in the marketing budget, given the good press that it would generate.

Unless they have no plans to release BS:Infinite on the PC. In which case this makes (some) kind of sense.

Even though many XBox owners also have PC's, and the overlapping users will feel bitter.

This is an outrage - PC users, if you want to be represented, please demand Take Two Interactive (2K Games' parent company) to reconsider their decision.

Here's a copy and paste email you can send to Take Two's head of corporate communications (meg.maise@take2games.com):

Dear Meg,

As a Bioshock 2 customer, I am outraged that 2K has decided to not release additional DLC content for the PC (namely Minerva's Den).

I find this upsetting for several reasons:

1) In 2K's original announcement for Minerva's Den, 2K stated that a PC release was forthcoming - to backtrack on a statement like that constitutes a broken promise and hurts 2K's overall credibility and public image for all users.

2) More importantly, by your actions you're telling the PC market that we don't matter. If this is truly how 2K Games feels, then just come out and say so. As PC users we'll simply make sure not to purchase your games if we're to be treated as second-class citizens. And as much as we like the Bioshock universe, you should already start cutting back your projections for Bioshock Infinite if this is the half-hearted support you intend to provide for that title as well.

I do not know what sort of flawed cost / benefit analysis went into your decision-making process, but based on the anger and the number of responses I've seen in comments posted on numerous websites (including 2K Forums), I think you are being short-sighted in thinking that a PC release would not be worth the time or effort. I have read the extremely positive reviews for Minerva's Den and would have even prepaid for the DLC if 2K needed to guarantee a certain level of downloads to ensure profitability. Instead 2K has hurt its own image by handling this issue in such a haphazard fashion.

I urge you to reconsider your decision and rebuild your trust with your customers - they're your ultimate stakeholders, not the shareholders, and will decide the ultimate success of Take Two Interactive as a company.

Best Regards,
[Your Name]

Dear Meg,

We are still going to pirate the ever loving shit out of whatever you put out, good will or not. Just look at what happened to the Humble Indie Bundle! That was .01$ and we still stole it like it was the LA riots.
Best Regards,
Gamer with a huge sense of entitlement.
There, updated that letter for you.

So now paying more money to 2K is some kind of privilege reserved for the console owners? Right. Well, I guess I'll save mine for more Valve games, then. No big deal. See, some developers actually use DLC to get even more sales for their original titles. They're smart that way. And why should I give my money to dumb fucks again?
There's already a precedent for that kind of thing, by the way: Ubisoft. Yep, even more money saved for Valve games there. Pity about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Bioshock: Infinite, but there's only so much hours in a day and choosing what to play in them is difficult. In that sense: Thanks for making things a bit easier for me 2K!

That's one hell of an assumption, just because a country isn't American or European they don't have huge videogame followings?

Sorry, no DLC or patch because the game has not sold as well as you expected? Well you have also guaranteed Bioshock Infinity won't sell well either....

Here's a thought, maybe it did not sell well because the PC version was not good. But that is beside the point, amount of sales should not determine if a game is supported with patches, etc or not, end of....
