People are still hooked on that Guardian feeling

After watching it I feel like the biggest disconnect some people are having with it is perception. Its not an action movie with some comedy in it. Its a comedy with some action in it.

I liked it. It's a bit more obviously a comedy than the first one. Like the writers started with all the jokes then tacked on a plot line at the end. If the jokes hadn't worked it'd have perhaps been a bit cringey, but ultimately it's a success because the jokes are actually funny. So yeah, thumbs up.

and blatant product placement (a big "Sony" close-up on the walkman, the Zune...gah!), so, um, boo.

You know what if a big Sony close up on a product that is ubiquitous with both Sony and the 80s is what Marvel had to pay to get Spiderman back I think it was a pretty good deal. Product placement, Zune really?

The movie was fun, a little disappointed that it didn't link in to any of the wider MCU, and the second it turned out to be set in 2014 I knew we wouldn't be getting any wider MCU or post credits links. Overall yeah fun movie not as good as the first, some of the SFX seemed a little meh (Nebulas ship dropping down in to the hole after she tried ramming Grimora with it just didn't look right) but the opening fight was just brilliant.
