I hate when people say "you just don't get it" What continue explain what I don't "get." Believe it or not most of the the time people do "get it" but that doesn't mean they think the same way as you.

Also, another thing that gets my goat is people making up shit about me and "calling me out on it". Yeah well, how about you call the fictional character that you created and happens to share my name out on it >.<

And of course the classic "they're, there, their" things. And getting memes wrong. It's "Boy, that escalated quickly", not "Well". It's "One does not simply do X", not "One doesn't".

Go to any thread on this site that has to do with drinking alcohol/smoking. See those people who go into the thread but don't actually drink/smoke? The ones who are just there to tell everyone that they don't drink/smoke while pointing out all the bad stuff that comes with drinking/smoking and saying something like "Why would you want to slowly kill yourself?"? Those people get my goat.

People that defend watching "my little pony". People are going to think you're weird, no matter how much you squeal about "it's just a show". If you'd just say "I don't care what people think", it'd sound much better, instead of trying to defend yourself from looking like a weirdo.

It's actually "defending yourself from people who try to make you look like a weirdo". I see nothing wrong with that.

Oh and just a random peeve of mine. I hate those weirdos that eat ceral with hot milk. Everyone knows the only normal way to eat ceral is with cold milk.

People who micro argue.

As in, not just arguing a certain point, but will cut an entire post into 50 different replies. It gets annoying.

Anyway, the one thing that I HATE HATE HATE is when people effectively use the "they started it" excuse for either being dismissive of or out right hostile to others. I know that a lot of people have said other wise, but as far as I'm concerned, that is no excuse for degrading another individual.

I'm not going to name names or places, but I'm pretty damn sure that anyone here can probably think of an instance of this...

- Swordplay; this one doesn't come up quite as often, but I've learnt(/am in the process of learning) various historical European sword fighting styles and the knowledge is less accessible than the other two. This one somehow gets me the worst (I've been known to write 1600 word responses on this topic), despite the fact that it matters the least.

Hot chupacabra, do I love swords. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about them. You're right, it is a very inaccessible topic.
If you ever feel like rambling, please PM me with some common misconceptions. Don't be shy about length.

As for myself? I guess whenever someone seems to dismiss or attack a person's credibility directly instead of dismantling their argument. That tends to get to me moreso than any point they possibly could be defending, and I'll usually start to disregard them.

Apparently there are one or two people who refute the fact that The Scorpion King 3 is the best movie ever.

Those people frustrate me with their opinions, because they are factually incorrect.

I mean, come on! =D

Whenever people have wrong opinions. I'm not talking about subjective opinons that you might personally find wrong like "I like X better than Y" or "I prefer X to Y". What I'm talking about is wrong opinons like "I like X, therefore anyone who likes Y are inferior".

Oh god, I am getting mad at a lot in the internet, just naming a few here:

1. People dismissing valid, fine written, well mannered opinion-posts as "trolling"

2. The entirety of console-/ console-vs-pc-wars

3. (As mentioned above) militant meat-lovers/ haters and anti-smokers/ -drinkers

OT: I hate simple grammar mistakes. I really don't mind if people say "arguement" instead of "argument", or "que" instead of "queue".

But I just die a little inside when people say:

Don't forget that there are people like me, who don't speak English as their first language and struggle quite a bit with that stuff (for some reason I keep mixing up "then" and "than", even though I should know better by now. I'm trying to minimize my mistakes, but it doesn't work all the time.)

I dislike the fact that people argue, instead of discuss. No one is going to change their minds based on something they read on the internet (unless they do, I'm not a fucking scientist). So discuss! Build understanding! It's not that hard. Unless it is for some people?

while i definitely know that i do sometimes do this, i try to avoid it and always discuss rather than argue, but i will definitely have to say this is true that get's my engine revved up.

a subcategory to this, is when people come in and quote people and attack them aggressively but then don't offer their opinion on the subject, they just antagonize and/or attack without giving any constructive criticism to the subject at hand. this also grates me.

It drives me nuts how much some people suck at reading comprehension, because it forces you to have to put stupid qualifiers everywhere to account for their endless ability to miss the point. You have to stick a line like "I don't mind [x] in general, but...", or "it's just my opinion, but...", or "some", just to account for people who would start stupid tangential arguments (the kind that begin with "oh, so you hate [x] huh?")

while I do get your point, I think alot of people do this just because they want to attack/try and make someone look stupid, when it's clearly obvious they mean it as their opinion or such. As mentioned before earlier in my post, they are basically antagonizing/trying to fluff their e-penis

The other thing is people who come onto a thread, just to tell everyone how much they don't care about the thread's subject. If you're not fucking interested in seeing another feminist thread, why are you here telling us that? Do you really think we wanted to know how disinterested you were with our discussion? Spare us and say nothing.

EDIT: Oh, I thought of another one. People who still dismiss people with the word "sheep", or any other term that implies something to its effect ("open your eyes", "appeaser", "believer" etc.) Yes, it still happens.

do agree with this also to a point, the first part i don't mind as much if you involve some constructive criticism or suggestions, but if you come in just saying "*sigh* are people really this stupid/shallow/beneath me?" type responses, then yeah i'm going to roll my eyes at you quickly.

I despise people using the word "then" when they mean "than", and "I could care less" when they mean "I couldn't care less".

These two annoy me because just looking at them in context should make it obvious which ones correct to use.

People who latch on to my many spelling and grammar errors and ignore the point I was trying to make.

While I will confess to being something of a grammar nazi, it does piss me off when people bring that out simply because they are unable to actually counter a point somebody made. As if spelling a word wrong somehow makes everything else you say invalid, even if it's completely factual.

The amount of misinformation about firearms and their usage that floats around on the Internet- not just here, but damn near everywhere- seriously gets at me sometimes. It's impossible to have any sort of discussion about them without crowds of people treating them with hostile disgust or godlike reverence.
