How do these people not realize that Wikipedia shut ITSELF down TEMPORARILY for a good cause? And how are people that dependent on Wikipedia to do their homework?

Totally agree, Obama has no respect for the Constitution. Remember when he declared war on Fox News and tried to get the American people to report any conservative e-mails to the government in like the first year of his term? Next he'll want to confiscate all of our guns so he can salvage them for parts and make a religion-seeking missile!

Yes, SOPA was just a master plot concocted by the president to shut down Wikipedia for a while thus preventing us from accessing information that would save the Earth.

Seriously, how do these people breath?
Think they require instructions to watch TV or put on clothes?

Okay, okay, yes, these people are ignorant. But to be fair, we're on a gaming website, and I assume for the most part we watch internet news outlets. We know about SOPA because we are the people who are going to be affected by it. People who only get on the internet to do some stupid shit (while in and of itself such a waste) of course won't know about it, and it's not entirely their fault.

This guy, though. Fuck this guy.[footnote]Some Guy, not Aidinthel[/footnote]

The only detestable ignorance is willful ignorance.

Except for the part where Wikipedia's home page explains all this. All of these people are either willfully ignorant or trolls.

People's replies are really terrifying. It's almost like an abusive relationship! "YOU CUNTS WIKIPEDIA, COME BACK I NEED YOUUUUU!!" And none of them will take the actual time to learn about why it's down in the first place and that's even sadder.

I wonder how many of the people moaning about how Wikipedia's blackout is stopping them from doing schoolwork actually know about the workaround given on the website and just want to use the blackout as an excuse.
And now I feel really old, when I was in college and writing my research paper we weren't allowed to use Wiki as a reference.

People need to stop relying so heavily on Wikipedia to help them with work. At school we weren't allowed to use any information from there and had to use reliable sources.

I really lose faith in humanity sometimes. Wikipedia even said how to disable the block if they actually read the learn more section.

Everyone is so helpless without Wikipedia! :)

I think that the blackout is defiantly sending the message to people that if SOPA passes, these websites will be missed.

ok this one has to be a troll, but if not this is the funniest one on there... simply because of the #dumbfuck tag

Obama should be banning texting and driving nationwide, not getting rid of wikipedia #dumbfuck
#dumbfuck you are, sir, or madam, or whoever posted the tweet there. If they're not trolling...

OT: I actually couldn't read more than 3 of the herpderpedia tweets, without rage-quitting. I hate when the ignorance of people gets brought up front, because it reveals just how many ignorant people there are.

I mean...why wouldn't they look at the text that was on their screen. It explains everything they need to know about why Wikipedia's down.

It does? I haven't been on since yesterday since I knew it was going to happen. I suppose I should've figured. Well, fuck me.

This of course begs the question: WHY THE FUCK DO YOU FLOCK TO TWITTER AND ASK "WHAT'S UP WITH WIKIPEDIA" WHEN THE ANSWER IS RIGHT FUCKING THERE?

God damn I hate people.

Hope these people aren't serious...
Poe's Law exists for a reason. While they may not be serious, we had thousands upon thousands of people who blamed Obama for creating a recession that preceded his presidency.

I'm kind of inclined to believe the worst in the American public these days.

Lol @ all their overreactions. "How am I supposed to do my homework!?" I mean really, relying that heavily on wiki for your homework? Come on -__-
It's not surprising. Back in my day, people just copied from an encyclopedia wholesale as well. Be it a physical one or on CD-ROM. Laziness evolved.

Wait, didn't Obama promise to veto the Bill and then just sat back and did nothing to oppose it? So in a way aren't they correct, it is Obama's fault SOPA has gotten this far because he hasn't opposed or stopped it?
You know, it was (largely) his opposition that caused the bill to be altered and shelved a couple of days ago. While he hasn't "done anything" in the whole of two days, it's hardly in his court right now.

Anyone remember that ship they won't stop talking about in the news. How the captain of said ship is now in trouble. Same concept!
Except Obama did speak out against it. So is your argument "Obama is corrupt and won't speak out against this thing he's spoken out against, and since he won't speak out against this thing he's spoken out against he should be held accountable for it?"

I mean, that's where the comparison of the ship captain is going, isn't it?

I tried. Honestly, I did my BEST to try. I couldn't. That was the first time I rage-quitted twitter. The ignorance! THE IGNORANCE! I CAN'T TAKE IT! *dives headfirst through window*

People I know were like freaking out because they found a "Way around" the Wikipedia blackout. Basically all they did was stopped loading the page before the black out screen showed up.
