Cowabunga dudes.
you were born in the 90s, but i don't consider you to be part of the "group that makes me feel old" since you were born close enough to when i was born...

1996. My first interaction with a console was the PS1. I actually felt old when I played Shadow Of the Colossus and my brother who's 8 told me the graphics were bad. I can't imagine how you guys feel.

Wow, you were born the same year as my 14 year old little cousin. Anyways, back in the 90s, as far as graphics went, n64 was the better system, but the ps1 graphics were pretty good also. Honestly, though. I don't ever remember even really paying attention to things like graphics until i got older. Back then games were just games

I feel a bit old... I have a lot of friends from the 90s (my youngest girlfriend was born in 1990) and basically the thing is something like this:

- 69- makes me feel like a brat;
- 70-74 makes me feel like a kid
- 75-79 makes me feel like a young;
- 80-89 Is right at home for me (I'm from 85);
- 90-94 makes me feel old;
- 95-99 makes me feel annoyed;
- 99-05 makes me feel homicidal;
- 05+ makes me want to be a father... (biological clock or whatnot).

And why do they make me feel like this? 'Cause I actually say stuff like "kids these days don't have a clue...".

Disclaimer: I have a ton of exceptions so I'm not generalizing!!

Too many kids think that Call of Duty is the best game ever. Too many kids think that Likin Park is the Real Rock. Too many kids think that Twilight (or some shit like that) is a cinema master piece. Too many kids don't realize that google is just a couple of years old. Too many kids don't realize I grew up without internet. Too many kids don't realize there was a time where there wasn't such a thing as mobile phones.

Kids these days (I'm doing it again) are all about the brands and the reputation... They're easy bait for marketing scumbags (like myself). Most of all... Kids these days (I can't stop saying this) just don't want to grow the fuck up... And just ask any of my exs... I'm fucking imature... But I take responsibility for the shit that I do and I want more responsibility! Kids these days don't want to be grownups... They just want to do whatever the hell they want. But without taking responsibility for their shit... And that pisses me off!

And don't get me started on the brats that use voice chat........ -.-'

And to all the "cool" and "hipster" kids reading this... Smoking isn't cool... Doing drugs isn't cool... Drinking isn't cool... Playing guitar isn't cool... So don't try to do things just to be cool 'cause you'll just fail... If you want to drink or play guitar or whatever, do it 'cause you want to do it and 'cause you like it... Not just so you can claim to be the next Kurt Cobain (or whatever the reference is these days...).

[/rant]

That's it...

EDIT: One of my first gaming memories: http://bit.ly/qPCBwI

yeah, i guess some parts of us are eternally young, and some parts eternally old

age is such an abstract concept

i wonder if wed ever feel old or young if we lived forever

if you mean a distinct distaste for all music, tv, and movies geared towards kids the same age as me in the 80s right now... and an inexplicable desire to yell at any children playing on my grass...

then yes... XD

I was born in 1993, I just graduated this year and I just turned 18 last month.

I'm actually more of a late 90s / early 00s kid, and anything in that time frame is considered nostalgic to me. I'm not very fond of the 80s, everything from that decade seems really cheesy and dated to me (although I like a few things) and had horrible fashion. That's how I see the 80s. Then again there was a lot of crap in the 90s, too.

I feel old about late 80s babies, honestly. When and where I was born, the ash from the eruption of Mt. St. Helens was still settling around the hospital to herald my coming.

honestly, aren't people born in 1989 and 1990 pretty much the same culture wise. I don't see why people born in 1990 would make you feel old if people born in 1989 don't...

I dunno, as a kid, i thought the 80s seemed really cheesy. However, as a 21 year old, i kinda wish i would have been able to experience the 80s. Seems like a pretty care free fun time

I was born in 86 and I know EXACTLY what you mean. Most of my classmates were born in 87, so I was one of the oldest in the group. What really blew my mind was when my neighbor graduated High School... she wasn't even a freshman yet when I graduated. Made me feel SO OLD. I'm 23 and I feel old as dirt. >_<
... I think I'll make you feel even older, but surely you're twenty-four... or even twenty-five (heaven forbid...(!))? -_-

OT: As someone who works at a uni... I'm surrounded by fresh-faced... well, idiots, for lack of a better way of putting it. So, how do you think that makes me feel? (Apart from 'superior', of course...)

HEY MY BIRTHDAY IS NOVEMBER 11TH.
...of 1993.
Hur hur my birthday is luckier than yours.

I'm really surprised by how many old people are on this site though. Well, by old, I mean born in the 80s.

Maybe I didn't explain myself well enough but it's more of a gray line... Sometimes you meet a 14 year old that says some pretty mature stuff and you always have that 30 year old guy that acts like a spoiled brat... My ex that was born in 1990 had the unique trick to make me feel like I was a kid (which is a good thing). But generally it's very different with people who were born in late 80s then with people that were born in early 90s.

The thing is we're all (80s and 90s babies) still pretty young. One or two years can mean the whole difference. I speak by myself... I probably matured more from 18 to 21 then from 21 to 26!

I think that for now 2 years make a noticeable difference but when you get older the difference isn't so strong. My brother is 7 years older then me and I barely feel the difference anymore.

I also greatly dislike that most of the people who wait on me in service areas, like waitresses and people who work at the movies, or cashiers, are obviously younger than me. I'm like "go back to playing with Barbies and Tonkas and leave the work to the grown ups."
If you were born in 86 then since its 2011 now... that would make you atleast 24 (not 23), and at most 25. Lowering your age so you wouldn't feel so old?

When people talk about classics and then bring up PS2 instead of Sega Genesis and NES, that's when I feel old. I remember rotary dial telephones and black and white televisions... also cartridges and floppy disks.
