Colors - Between the Buried and Me

When a band sounds badass by inserting a COUNTRY breakdown in one of their songs, they are perfect.

I'm listening through Crack the Skye by Mastodon right now, and it is also very good. Prog albums always take a while to grow on me though. I remember hating BTBAM when I first heard them.

EDIT: Led Zeppelin IV. How could I forget that?

Take to the Skies by Enter Shikari. Every song is a masterpiece. Every other album I can think of always has that one song that I don't like... Even Doolittle by Pixies which is a close second has Dead on it.

30 Seconds To Mars - Self Titled
Death - The Sound Of Perseverance
Kamelot - Epica

Three flawless displays of musicianship. Three albums that redefined the way I viewed music.

Animals-Pink Floyd (Brilliant guitar work throughout)
Razia's Shadow-Forgive Durden (So much of something, lacking words to describe)
With Arrows, With Poise-The Myriad (Literally shaped my early ideas of music)

A few that are close:
The Story and the Song-Between the Trees
Permanent Waves-Rush

Edit: Forgot one that was close, Never Take Friendship Personal-Anberlin (If it wasn't for that awful instrumental they threw in)

My Dinosaur Life by Motion City Soundtrack has been absolutely amazing for me so far. It's got a great mix of everything I like, like variety of songs, catchy lyrics, vocalist with emotion, etc.. I couldn't really ask for anything more from the album.

Recently, Florence+the Machine, Lungs. I grew to love every song.
I also really like La Roux, but won't pretend its perfect to everyone
