Why is zelda considered a RPG? It jst an adventure game where yo collect stuff. If Zelda: OoT is a RPG then why isnt Mario 64?

FPS - Half Life 2 or COD 4, those 2 respresent different ends of the FPS spectrum.
RTS - Starcraft, but we mustn't forget the impact of original C&C.
RPG - Fallout 2, the freedom and variety of that game is massive.
RPS - Fallout 3, I may dislike the game, but no other games combines FPS and RPG elements as well. Without Fallout 3, the title would have gone to System Shock 2.
4X - Space empires IV, altough old, it's the only game that could challenge VGA Planets.
TBS - Steel Panthers, no explanations needed.
Multiplay FPS - CS:S, Altough there are others and many are in a way better than CS:S, it's still the game that pretty much defined the genre.
Stealth - Thief, no other game has made sneaking around as immersive as this has.
Racing - Dirt2, Simple and fun driving, enough variety to keep you interested. I might have selected Forza here, but they need to make PC version first, since I don't own any consoles.
Driving sim - RFactor, Live for speed is close, but RFactor is somewhat more appealing.
MMO - Not gonna go there. To select game to be perfect example of MMO's, that genre would have to be broken down into subgenres.
