A period of history (or specific date) that you would like to be a setting for a video game. If you'd like to add on the story and genre for the game that would be even better. I would have it be set during the Boxer Rebellion in China (early 1900's), maybe as a turn based strategy game with real time battles (like Total War) or Assassin's Creed-esque.

I'm not sure how it would work, but I would love to play an FPS using muskets and other early gunpowder weapons. I'm guessing that bayonets and other melee weapons would play a bigger part than they do in most modern games.

I would like to see an open sandbox RPG based in Mongolia in the time of Genghis Khan (it would be like Mass Effect but with archery and full on cavalry battles, too awesome for words)

I've been kicking around a couple of ideas for a while now....

One of them is during the construction of the pyramids in Egypt, where you play as a slave looking to rescue his wife and a handful of others and escape the cruel hand of the Pharoah. You use slimy sneaky stealth mechanics somewhat akin to Manhunt to take out guards, bribe and coerce fellow slaves, slip past the Pharoah and maybe even uncover an Egyptian myth or two.

The other is a game set in the Amazon jungle in the 30's or 40's....where you play as an intrepid explorer who, along with his handful sized team....desperately try to survive the dangers of the wilderness with little to no experience and fast dwindling supplies. Lots of stealth, platforming and a few shooting sections.

I would like to see more set in the age surrounding the French revolution/ following Napoleonic wars.
Mark my words, somewhere in the future there WILL be an Assasin's Creed in which you play as Robbespierre.

couldnt be too realistic because by FPS standards, hell even real life standards those weapons were quite crappy guns (depending on exactally that period/type of weopon) the amount of time it would take to reload between each shot...you'd be Meleeing alot

and the "hardcore" FPS players would hate it, but then again realism for thr sake of realism isnt often a good idea

There is a free steam mod out there that's based in the American war of Independence (or whatever those yanks call it)

One side plays as the British and the other American. There is a choice of three classes for each side. Roughly set up as class one solidier: Musket + bayonet, class two infiltrator: pistol and knife, Class three officer: Officers sword + decorative pistol.

Both sides compete to either take and hold three points or wipe out the opposing team's remaining respawns. Its actually really fun. You shoot then frantically reload hoping noone has a loaded rifle near you. EDIT-Here is thehttp://www.bgmod.com/
OT: I'd like to see more games set in the hundred years war England v France 1337 to 1453 (like Bladestorm) or in 1917's Russia Era.

Hundred years war mainly because this was when cavalry and longbowmen were at the peaks of their power. With the introduction of the longbow to war bringing about a revolution in war. The lowliest peasant could be trained to massacre the rich noble knights who had ruled the battlefield for decades.

When archeologists first discovered the corpse of a longbowman they thought they had found a new species due to the ridiculously over developed right side of the body (from holding the bow taunt)

I'd like to see a studio tackle a game about the slave trade of the 1500's and on. That would be a pretty interesting game.

In fact, I'd like to be on the non-American side of all the wars we've covered. For example, being a Frenchman or Nazi during WWII or a Brit during the American Revolution. Just to get a different perspective on things.
A game where you play as a 16th century slave in Brazil using Capoeira to escape and survive would be good.

I can't think of any game set in the Viking Age, although there probably are.

That could be pretty cool.

I would like to see, some strategy game set between WWI and WWII or, directly after WWII, so you can wrestle with lots of difficult economy, politics and so on.

For an action game, I would like to see WWII: Opposing Force, like half-life, where you play the military and try to hunt down Gordon Freeman, I would like to play as a soldier from Germany, Italy, Japan, Bulgaria or Turkey and fight against everyone else in an epic suppose-to-lose battle. Since this will stern the controversy pot, about the Na'zi, I would have you-know-who with the mustache, announce in the game's intro that it is not the Jews we'll be killing, they have done nothing wrong, we'll go after the whole world! (simple cop-out, saying we're not going to do all that genocide thing). If that ever gets made, I'll buy 3 copies :D
