Haven't seen it, but more annoyed that they didn't make a Persona 3 anime. That one (to me) was more anime worthy story wise. Liked both games and story though so I'd still watch this one day.

PERSONAlly(bad pun i noe), I think I'll give it a few more episodes. I love the music in the show because it makes you want to play the game again. Also, I love the day transitions, as well. The problem I find is the rushing, which isn't a bad thing and it is completely understandable, but its seems that the kids won't be fighting with their weapons, which is a bad thing cause it kinda kills chie's character but we'll see. BTW tutorial fight scene was really well done
They didn't have weapons at this point in the game (well, this chronological point, they did when the first battle really happened), so they may still use them. Even if they don't, though, from how MC moved around during the fight I could see Chie motioning the martial arts for her Persona to do them, forcing her to still actually know how to fight. I'm actually really excited to see how they'll execute the various parts of the game in show form.
I can see that, but all in all the battle was well done. Anyways what do you think about the MC? Since in the game he is traditionally a blank slate. I kind like the direction they went with since Yu Narukami doesn't talk very much, but didn't you think he look semi evil in that fight scene lol
Yeah, I really like how he basically only talks in nods and short answers to people's questions (like the answers available in the game). His actual personality will be another interesting thing to watch develop, though. I agree, he looked pretty happy to be able to rip things apart with demonic powers, and he complained to himself about being stuck in Inaba, so we'll see. Hopefully they don't give him a flawed-enough personality that he seems like he should have had a shadow.
That would be a semi-neat thing if they gave him a shadow-self. Although, to avoid spoilers, lets just say the first "final boss" is kinda like his shadow since they use the same persona.

And just for fun how do you think they are going to match up that characters or well they not do it at all? It seems like they're going for the platonic friend amongst all the characters, which is both good an bad. Although it seems a feel social links will make cameos.

I could see them throwing in an actual shadow for him, maybe one that develops after everything instead of before, so in the midst of the final dungeon maybe? If not, then yeah, HE is a pretty good foil to the MC and depending on how they characterize both, could be even better.

I agree he'll probably go full platonic, otherwise they risk pissing off people who prefer one girl over another. They could pair off the other party members, (Yosuke and Chie, the two gender-sexuality confused characters) and stick MC with Yukiko or Rise, but still, same problem. Or they could go the "date everyone" route, but I don't know how that could possibly work without making the MC a terrible person, or possibly just even more like the first final boss.

Maybe he'll just have some unresolved sexual tension with every single girl?

Eh. I was personally not too impressed. It sticks way too close to the source material to be a show that can stand on its own. The only part that really impressed me was when it deviated from the game with the awakening of Izanagi and the fight sequence that followed.
The biggest issue, though, is that the protagonist has absolutely no character. It's ok for a role playing game, but not ok for a tv show.

I actually like Yuu's characterization in this. Remember he's been here about a day and doesn't know anyone, so it makes sense that he'd act the way he does. I'm sure as time passes he'll loosen up around everyone.

yeah they had to speed it up to save time it brings up a slight plot hole though about how he knew to stick his and in the tv.

Yeah, there has only been one episode so I can't really complain too much yet. In addition, according to the stat screen that popped up during the commercial break he is still devoid of expression. It would be really cool if Yuu's character did evolve a lot over the course of the series, but the starting point of "no personality" is frustrating.
I mean, what is his personality in the first episode? I can't think of any word to use except "stoic." And when stoic is the only world you could possibly use to describe a character, you have a problem. In addition, they only half transformed him from a silent protagonist into an actual character. He had maybe around 10 lines the whole episode. And none more than 10 words.
And not to be that guy, but one last complaint. In the game Yosuke and Chie accompany the protagonist to Junes to test out the hand-TV thing mostly to mock him. In the show, it just seems like they are saying "alright sure."

Well, in both the game and manga, they seem to be hinting at a harem thing and judging by all the other harem stuff coming out this anime season, it could be possible. Anyways if there's an episodes two post next week I will see you then.

Wouldn't it interfer with the fact that they are ment to go back and find the girl Youske likes nightmare realm and not have Chie with them?

Given that I knew nothing about the game other than the reputation that it's a great and what not, I thought the anime is ok. I will be watching more of it. Yeah I won't get some of the ingame gags but that what anime bloggers are for.
