the worst nerf ive seen is in world of tanks. they crippled the m36 jackson. it has none of the performance of the real thing in game
Ah a fellow WoTanker!
Biggest nerf in that game has to be the "7.0 high explosive round nerf", for ALL tanks.
Basically, if you can't penetrate a tank's armor with armor piercing ammo, you will have even LESS luck using HE. Those developers REALLY HATE lower and medium tiers!

City of Heroes. They literally quartered the effectiveness of Gravity controllers. Even before that they were borderline on the weakest class.

What the title says

I ask because to my sorrow, Capcom decided that with the new UMVC3 update that along with the new Heroes & Heralds mode (yeah that's out now btw) they'd go and nerf Phoenix Wright's Assist... It is now...No longer invincible when he's in Turnabout Mode. *sigh* Gone are the days where he could walk confidently through three hypers and smack them with a piece of paper (like a boss, naturally).

I'll give you all a second to adjust, it's perfectly understandable that you may be disturbed to learn this fact.

Wesker continues to be a broken, overpowered assbandit if anyone cares, he's sort of an injoke now anyway.

Anyway discussion value incoming!

Personal worst nerfs or best buffs or anything in between.

Basically if you've ever turned on a game and your favourite character has been broken beyond repair (in either a good or bad way)
Turnabout mode Press the Witness was far, far, FAR more broken than anything Wesker can do. Its only limiting factor was being somewhat tricky to get, but a good play can get evidence in no time flat.
You're sort of correct since it's- was invincible, but the important thing to remember is that you send people flying at the end of the assist. Therefore stopping almost any chance of a combo unless you've something like a beam hyper. Even then they will recover and just play more cautiously.

Unless you play Wolverine. Then you're screwed.

Oh and good luck trying to get his assist to work on any decent keepaway character (bar Dr Stange maybe) it's hardly Magneto's DISRUPTAH! In terms of range.

'Should we nerf Wesker? The guy's pretty overpowered. He has above average health for someone his speed and size, a ridiculous buff that makes him more powerful the more damage he takes, teleports with little recovery, insane damage from basic combos and a hyper that randomly crosses up.'

'Nah, fucking nerf the joke character that anyone barely uses'

Never change Capcom.
You know, i think as long as they don't nerf Turnabout + X Factor, i'll still have a chance with Phoenix Wright. I'm actually basing my H&H deck around X Factor damage assuming X Factor damage doesn't cap. (please don't point out to me how bad an idea this is.)

I wonder if they buffed Phoenix's health though, she really got into the habit of getting instakilled within the first 10 seconds.

Godlike creature getting downed by a lawyer... How very strange

Is balancing MvC3 even really that big a concern anyway? Obviously it has more comptative merit that MvC2 or Super Smash Bros., but after playing the first build for awhile it honestly doesn't feel like a game that can ever be a completely legitimate e-sport fighter. Mortal Kombat really doesn't either considering how poorly programmed the wall mechanics are.

I saw Blazblue mentioned and thought: why is nobody wondering why Tager hasn't been nerfed. I is so broke it makes me hurt.
...He hasn't been nerfed because he doesn't need any, he's bottom tier after all. It's just that if you are fighting a Tager player who knows their shit, you can get locked down real quickly if you approach him the wrong way. The buffs he's been given still make him a bottom tier character too.

Gadget finger still pisses me off though, just....fuck gadget finger.
He does so much damage and has an easy to pull off counter throw that can be spammed. Fuck Tager. I play Makoto mostly so I have to rely on getting close to pummel him but when ever I do that fukkin throw halves my health, then "Spark Bolt!!!!!!!!!!!" I bounce off wall return to a 3 hit combo and die. Another character who is hard in a cheap way is Hakumen, once again due to high damage, easy to pull off attacks.

Bearing in mind I wouldn't call my self an expert player as I never owned Calamity Trigger or any other 2d japanese fighter until CS so its probably just my inexperience.

He does a shit ton of damage because he's the slowest character in the game with the least mobility. His specials are all relatively slow aside from spark bolt, and he pretty much needs the properties on his moves in order to even close in the gap. If he magnetizes you, it's your own damn fault. His counter throw can be baited and countered with proper mix ups, spacing, and zoning.

I hate him and get annoyed with him too, but he isn't cheap or OP by any stretch of the word. The same goes for Hakumen....he's a power character as well, of course he has a high damage output. I main Hakumen, he's B tier last I checked, and he has his share of flaws. He's way more difficult to use than you give him credit, and easy to pull off attacks is no excuse to deem someone cheap.

If you want to know what a "cheap" character is, look at Noel and Valkenhyan. These assholes were in serious need to some nerfs (thankfully Noel got some, dunno about Valk).

You lost me at spacing, zoning and mix ups. I know what a cancel is though XD

With regards to what constitutes as cheap I consider in any game that any character, move or weapon that circumvates the investment of time placed into the game as cheap. I can do arcade on hard up to Hazama (fuck unlimited Hazama) and my friend who is even more of a noob at fighting games than me but when we fight he can only beat me with 4 characters: Tager, Hakumen, Noel and Arakune.

Noels has no health and Arakune only has one annoying, easy to spam move. But the other two.....no matter my time in challenge, training and overall experience in the game which equals a time investment greater than his; he can beat me without fail with those 2 character by only using 1 button: B....or C (its B on the xbox but for some reason the tutorial calls it C)

Generally any time a mage gets buff and ferals get nerfed in wow.

Biggest joke ever considering the number of times this has happened given the relative pvp/pve prescnce in the game.

For anyone who doesnt know. Mages are almost always OP and always get buffed, ferals are almost always UP and get nerfed.

Also, the worst buffs and nerfs are the ones that never happened.

For Buffs: Remy in Third Strike, and all the other 52 characters in MvC2.
For nerfs: Yun in Third Strike (what a scrub fucking character) and Sentinel in MvC2.
