Extremely disturbing? I can think of a much more disturbing thing than an obvious comparison/JOKE.

Disturbing is if they show a video of all the things that could be done to those ... items.

If I was to pick *just* one thing, I'd say perverts have ruined manhood.

Internet culture has twisted the once noble figure of the man into a pathetic, whiny, pallid, unhealthy, greasy, unshaven, awkward, irritating freak that constantly runs after the goddess like figure of "The GF" to ABSOLUTELY no avail.

The "Wanker culture" - wherein most males accept and broadcast that they're pathetic for the sake of cheap laughs, display a crippling fear of male (and only male) homosexuals, and "grudgingly" admit that poor quality, uncreative pornography is the only sexual attention they get - is a pox and a plague that only makes men less appealing to me, and does a fairly good job of not only alienating the women they want more than life itself, but promoting sexism AGAINST men.

Basically, it's very hard to see Dohvakin (Lusty sigh) from behind the smokescreen of perverts and porn.

He's on the internet. I think that's license to be judgmental these days.

Used to just be Americans. >.>

How does making awesome jokes where there was nothing before ruin stuff? Are you so feeble-minded to not be able to see beyond comedy gold balls of Bowser?

Has someone ever suggested something so extremely disturbing and wrong that it destroyed something you cherished?
I for one once read a bash.org quote discussing the SMW boss fight. One sick individual believed that the Big Balls were Bowser's... well I can't finish that sentence, because if I did, it would be vile, confusing and would probably get me suspended.
Feel free to censor if it gets too vile.
If you're not perverted in some way, then sad to say that probably means you're the weird one. Everyone has their kinks, perversions, preferences and whatnot. As far as filthy jokes go, you could tell an elderly nun a dirty joke and she'd still giggle. Most humans are just wired that way.

Honestly, if you got worked up by someone making a crack about Bowser's testicles, I advise you get off the internet, board up your doors and stay inside nice and quiet for the rest of your life. Trust me, if that sort of thing offends you then you do not want to interact with other human beings. It's going to get much, much worse :p

Theres nothing wrong with being a pervert, if anything it makes life more fun. I'm sorry to hear some perv ruined something you liked but i'm pretty sure this has more to do with this person being an asshole then it has to do with them being a pervert.

Perhaps you might try talking to people somewhere other than the internet? I can't really say I've met anyone like that since I left school.

Oh, OK, trolling. I honestly thought you were serious to begin with.

Probably because I'm so stupid. Do I get my cheap laugh now? :p

Why on earth would you want to bang a Dohvakiin? They're kleptomaniac murderers with a body count rivalling a high-end serial killer! I think I'd rather go for the porn, at least it won't set me on fire when it gets bored...

To change this MLP snowball to another subject for just a moment, I'm pretty sure my wife will never forgive me for re-wording an Aladdin song into "A Whole Nude World". she didn't speak to me for a while after that.

Personally, I feel that nothing is sacred, and that when people put certain shows or movies on a pedestal as untouchable or incorruptible then it becomes irresistible to the people like me who constantly think of horrible things and have to restrain ourselves not to ruin it for everyone else. Looking at you My Little Pony...

[EDIT:] it's like resisting the temptation to tell disaffected and disillusioned members of the Tea Party to check out lemonparty.org (I.E. "starting to feel that the Tea Party has lost it's way? check out the Lemon Party!")

You have your opinion and they have theirs, if you think something they like is horrible and disgusting, well thats just too bad.

I've never had something I liked ruined by someone elses opinion like you suggest. I have been creeped out by things other people like but there is no reason to let the fact somebody likes something I don't like ruin what I do like.
Simple?
Basically this in a nutshell.

Furries have ruined Starfox and any other cartoon, videogame or movie with anthromorphic animals.

It just jumps in my head that someone somewhere is masturbating to this.

I find it fandoms can kinda ruin the mood for something more often than perverse people, mind you being one of the former does not discount being one of the latter.

Just the Aladdin song? Things have never quite been the same for me after an acquaintance suggested that any Disney song can have its innocence ruined by changing the word 'eyes' with 'thighs'. And they were right!

Also, yeah, anything about MLP that was mentioned here. Ugh... I've already been reminded of too much overly sexual/violent fan works by this thread.

Oh god, why did you have to bring that up? I read that a couple months back, and I really don't want to be reminded of it again.

Hmmm, well the plight of men is a big deal in society right now, but one that is unlikely to go addressed for a long time given the way politics are. One of the problems as I see it is that it's not generally portrayed as being okay to be manly, and on TV you'll notice an increasing focus on meterosexuals, and guys who are constantly one upped and belittled by women, and oftentimes treated fairly cruelly and dismissively while being expected to take it. A lot of people will say "well, that's fine because of how a lot of women believe they were treated" but really I don't think it is.

Combine that with the way how society is broken to the point where competition is resolved and people's lives are oftentimes settled by the age of 12... especially for guys, and yeah you can see where the whole stoner/slacker/wanker culture is coming from.

Your not the only one to notice it, and it's one of those big problems that nobody wants to touch. Especially seeing as in many cases it would come down to portraying women as being the bad guys here, and that's contrary to the "protected" status due to previous sexism that we have in play.

That's my thoughts at any rate.
