So. PETA. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals.

These guys have been around for a while, and I have always looked on them with slight disdain, but more often ignoring their existence. While irritating, they are mainly just people over the edge on some animal rights nonsense. I figured these are the kind of people who are going to find something to yell about no matter what. While I don't condone any unnecessary harm, such as beating a dog, I didn't agree with them about basically everything else. I didn't like them, but I didn't really care about them that much.

This changed when I heard about their campaign "Holocaust on your plate"

Seriously.

They line up pictures of animals in poor conditions with pictures of Nazi concentration camps. What kind of sick people do this? They honestly compare the two, making the statement that animals in bad conditions are the same as the Jewish people in the camps.

Anyways, so now that I cannot stand PETA, I just wondered what other people's stances on animal rights are?

Are they related to the PTA? Reguardlessly, they're a good cause, but it's the stuff that we should worry about after all the people have houses.

That said, they do go to extremes, but that's what people do to get their points ac across.

They lost all credibility with me when they lied about Iron Chef. They claimed that the Chef in the episode beat a live squid to death with a radish.

Upon looking at a fansite which detailed the food preperation, I found out it was a lie because if you physically pound a squid it would shoot bad tasting ink everywhere.

I remember they started a "Got Beer?" campaign for college students, asking them to drink beer instead of milk. And so, I despise them. Encouraging people to drink irresponsibly? Hell no.

Like a LOT of Environmental Pressure Groups, these guys make Al-Queda look held back.

I've really lost faith in most of these guys due to their actions.

As for milk, it's very good for you IF you're a growing child...as you grow up, there's less need to take it, but it still gives you a great deal of calcium, which for elderly people is much needed.

What? Most beers have animal ingredients in them. I'm not sure exactly what, but either fish eyes, fish gills or fish guts are used in the filtration process.

I know this because I had a friend who was a Vegan & he could only drink one or two brands of beer, most beers contradicted his Vegan ethics.

Also drink beer instead of milk? How is that better for animals? I've never had the craving for a kebab or burger after drinking a few pints of milk.
