He should have also given a reward to the person who added the most blocks back through microtransactions. Maybe make him "King of the Trolls" in the game or something.

If it is not the naked pics of Molyneaux as all initially speculated, it is a spectacular failure.

So, the "life changing" reward is a glorified advertisement for Godus.
Well, I give Molyneux credit; he's a wily one, turning supreme disappointment into marketing.

Heh, interesting outcome for the experiment that was about to die not too long ago.
So he actually did hold his promise, that guy's life is indeed about to be changed a lot. I feel bad for all the people that actually invested money into this though.

So they give them the power to make or break the game, and then make sure they get a cut of sales so they don't abuse that power.

That's too fucking clever. Who is this Molyneux where is the old one who thought a dog would distract as from Fable II's inanity ahhhhhhhh

I gotta say that for the few hours I put into the game, and the humorous pictures uncovered each day or so. That I gotta say well-done to the guy who got that last block, and who will also become a virtual god.

Welp, that's promising. Molyneux coming up with a concept and actually living up to its promise? That's a first.

I suppose this did satisfy my Curiosity about just how far someone can be up their own ass. It's not the game or the prize that bother me, but rather how Molyneux talks it up in the video. He's acutely aware that the prize is not at all what people were expecting, and he's doing his damnedest to make it sound "life-changing," when it's clear that it's basically a glorified pre-order bonus.

You know.. Technically people were correct.

Inside Peter Molyenux' cube was, well, Peter Molyenux.

And what would have been "inside the cube" if the Godus Kickstarter would have failed?
Hmm... interesting point. I guess nothing? That'd actually be surprising because it's so obvious that "obviously" (yeah, shoot me now) Molyneux would never do it.

To be honest - This was very brilliant. Even though here are people crying and whining about it being stupid or what not.
I think this was the most interesting and successful social experiments there have been.
Just like when Blizzard tried to see if they could manipulate Millions of people to change their play styles and accept the easier route. This was amazing.
Of course I had no part in this - neither was I curious, but that reward, I would loved to have that.

Now people who are whining and complaining about this.
LOOK AT IT FROM THE GRAND PERSPECTIVE! See what Peter managed to do, he managed to get million of people to work towards one small goal that was unknown, to spend countless tabs and hours on it. Look at it from game developers or sociologist perspective.

:/

I don't see that as a great award.

Sinister getting people to mindlessly slave away at a largely pointless task is not groundbreaking science. Even I have a job.

Wait wait wait, isn't this kind of unfair? I never played the game but I thought it was a cooperative effort to get to the center of the cube, and yet only ONE guy gets an amazing life changing prize? He could've just been a guy who decided to participate at the last minute and just happened to hit the last bit, while some guy who spent way more time than he should've is denied the prize.

Does that mean that instead of being the "social experiment" it was advertised as, it was just a new media lottery?

A typical crap gift from Molyneux, who has ALWAYS promised tons more than he's delivered.
Oh, how I loathe him!

"Social experiment"? More like, filled my pockets with money with the least amount of "game" possible!

It'll be interesting to see how the guy handles his role.

Essentially being the "Lead Designer" for the game world is a pretty big pair of shoes to fill, especially if someone has no prior experience designing games, let alone being in a lead position. Merely playing a game isn't quite the same.

Depending on the overall game design for the god game, I can guess there's a lot of number crunching based on available resources from the world's and the players who I believe will represent the people. Even more cautious is having to juggle benefiting one group over another, dealing with prayer requests and such. And if there's a button for the player to worship the god, have live tracking of how many are, vs. how many are not.

I love how they tie his incentives into his decisions. If he makes dumb decisions, people may not play, and he doesn't get paid.
I think we can all be happy it's not another Fable game.
