One time this dude phoned up saying he was going to ass rape my mother.
I told him she was dead.
He said no she wasn't he knew and to tell her he was going to fuck her shit up.
I said I would get right on that as soon as I stopped furiously masturbating to the sound of his voice.
He said what.
I said he had a sexy voice and I couldn't help myself. I asked him to tell me what he was wearing.
He told me to fuck off and called me a freak.
I said I thought we had something special. I told him I loved him.
He said to just tell my mother her ass was grass.
I said it is clearly not grass we are people what are you stupid.
He told me to shut the fuck up idiot.
I said why are you so mean to me lately and asked him if he even cared about me any more.
He said something unintelligible and hung up.

I was fourteen at the time and there was some heavy shit going on, so I was pretty scared for my mum. I am still not entirely sure what possessed me to provoke the guy.
Never found out who he was. Thankfully, he was all talk.
That reminds me of when these two guys called me up and tried to confuse me by speaking in spanish, they were giggling after every two words, and so I messed with them and spoke back in German. One let out a quick "What the hell was that?" and hung up.

The difference being that this guy was probably genuine.
Like I said, there was some stuff happening at the time. Kind of not worth getting into.

If it was a prank caller I probably would have tried to be more witty and less infuriating about it.

I was around ten years old. My family was in some financial straits and frequently received calls from bill collectors. It was during this time that I answered such a call. The man sounded like any old bill collector, requesting that I jot down the number for my parents. Of course, I didn't. He said the number and I simply acted as though I had written it down. What I wasn't expecting was for him to then demand that I read it back to him. I "um'ed" and "er'ed" for a moment until he abruptly cut me off, assuming a menacing tone a voice. He informed me that I was a rude, terrible person, and that I could be placed in jail for my insolence. I promptly hung up the phone and ran to my parents.

Being the mature person that I am today, I would have added "Fuck you, asshole."

I got threatened by a class mates older brother over phone when I was like 7. At that time it was the most scary moment of my life. My mother went rampage on that guys mother and him.
Mom. <3

Also got a text message once that read;
"Want to text a bit tonight? I long for your messes and have a few newly taken pictures ;)
Mm, I want to kiss every millimeter of your wonderful body at the moment."
At that moment I felt some excitement, but it quickly went away when I read the last line;
"Kisses Stefan"

I've never felt so lonely.

I was just recently called by a restricted number, and a lady asked me my name and I said Stephen, she said some last name I had never heard before, and I said they had the wrong number, then she said that she didn't and was from the "special republic", and that they had an offer for me. She asked what my last name was, and I asked why, she said that she was going to conduct an interview. I hung up. I'm fucking scared.
So, do the Escapists have any phone calls that have scared them?

YOU! yes YOU! YOU have won the SPECIAL REPUBLIC lottery! the SPECIAL REPUBLIC only needs YOU to send all of YOUR personal information to confirm your identity and your BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER to receive payment!

ALL HAIL GLORIOUS SPECIAL REPUBLIC!

OT: I dont get scared easily, but a few days ago we had a zero-visibility fog hanging around town that made it look like Silent Hill. I got a call on my cell phone from a number I didnt know [hint: I never give out my cell phone number], when I answered it was nothing but loud static.

the same number called a few more times after that, each time it was nothing but static.

it turns out where I live gets sever interference when it gets like how that day was, and every call I could of gotten would of been the same.

but it leaves the question, who exactly was phone?
That's friggin brilliant, as to the phone I'm guessing pyramid head was calling, just he had crappy reception.

I never give out my cell number, but every now and then I get random calls from numbers across Canada and the US. One of the only ones I've ever answered and the last one I will ever answer consisted of two words, "Please Die", in an electronic voice like you get on voice messaging services, then the connection died.

When I was 10 these prank callers called and said my parents were dead. they said they were police officers and I believed them because it was 9:30, and my parents had went out to eat at 5:15. They said they were going to be home by 7, so I was worried already. The people had hung up saying the reception was bad(I was a kid, lay off). But then MY PARENTS CALLED saying that traffic was bad and a car crash had happened, making them late. They said they were sorry and hung up. but the guys called again and here was our conversation

ME-hello
Asshole #1- Its us son, are you ok?
ME- I hope you are raped
Asshole #2- Hey! you do not say that young man!
ME-You lied to me about my parents, go fuck a cactus you no d$ck!
Asshole #2- Im a woman ya little shit!
ME-I may be shit, But its better to be shit then to not have a life.(I talked smoother and slower now)
Asshole#1-You are so lucky kid, you probably wouldnt say that to our faces!(they were really starting to get pissed).
ME-I would because you probably are those geeky little faggots who act tough through a phone instead of growing balls.
(You could here them breaking shit through the phone)
Asshole #1- YOU ARE GONNA DIE YA LITTLE *BBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP*!(I would get in trouble for saying what he said)>
ME-Teehee! You dont scare me. Your as dull and boring as sea monkeys. Your as useless as (dont remember what I said). Go drop off the earth and make everyone happier.
Asshole #1-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!(I heard a loud smash sound as if the phone was thrown against the wall, then it went dead. Apperently the phone broke).

I once had a one-night stand with a girl. The guy she cheated on got a hold of my (unlisted) number, called it, and said "Dude, man-to-man, you know she's got a bunch of STDs, right? Seriously, get yourself tested, because she gave that shit to me too."

Now, I had a feeling the guy was bluffing (jilted lover and all), but that was a SCARY day at the clinic, followed by a profound sense of relief when all the tests came back negative. And even worse was getting an HIV test six months later and thinking "this disease takes a while to show up on tests, right? What if that girl from...nah..." and having the same mortal terror followed by sweet relief when that test came back negative.
Ouch... that shit is cold. :s Glad you were given the all-clear.

My personal scariest phone call wasn't that scary, really, more just weird. I got some old guy who was convinced he'd got the number for someone who was "selling a piano". He kept asking me about how much I wanted, and what arrangements were for him picking it up. After about five minutes he understood that I was actually in the middle of eating lunch, thanks, and I'd appreciate it if you checked the number you think you've rung.

He suddenly sounded very embarassed and apologised, hanging up. He was scarily determined though, he really believed he'd got the right number. It was quite exasperating. :p

Apart from the occasional person claiming to be behind me, I havent had to many frightening phonecalls. Except the ones who just call and never say anything.

Me and a couple of my friends were watching stepfather one night and just as the father called his son, my phone rang at the exact same time with the same ringtone. It was kinda freaking but what really freaked me was when I answered the phone and my grandma said the same thing that the father was saying. Nicer tone of course but the same words. It freaked me out to use my phone for a while.

People are scared by different things and by different instances, it was just really strange the tone of voice the lady was using, like she personally knew me.
So she was trying to sell you something.
You should be scared because tomorrow they're going to break into your house while you're sleeping to try to sell you the same thing!

I never got a scary call, but I made one.

Me and a couple of friends were in a mall, when this woman came to us and offered me 50 bucks if I called a certain number and let out a string of abuse if a certain woman answered the phone. I took the money, did my best James Earl Jones impression, made the call from a payphone, and that was that. Still have no idea what that was all about.

I hope you really know why I've done that, but its because my mum gets scared of strangers accessing her details and my cousin is in Yr 3, in America.

Nothing can top the time my friends gave my mobile number to a homophobic priest from the local church.

You have NO idea how freaky it is to wake up at 2am to answer the phone, only to have someone YOU HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ranting to you in pretty horrific detail about what's gonna happen to you in Hell.

shit made me change my fucking mobile number cause he wouldn't leave me alone.
