Except it's 0. I got confused in calc one day and checked it out and the exponent rules say if n=/= n^0 =1Wardnath said:Zero to the zero power = 1.
O SHI, what have I done?!
Just did.SimuLord said:Someone mentioned to me today that 1337% of Pi = 42. Sure enough, I ran the numbers and to two decimal places, Pi * 13.37 = 42.00.

Have you learned about the FTP motor? It's a molecular motor found in every cell. It's the power house of cells. Scientists estimate every cell can have a couple thousand of these little motors. It can burn fuel to produce energy, and it can run in reverse to store energy. I've seen an animation of it in work. It even looks like a simple 2 part motor spinning. It's absolutely crucial to cells, and it's made of a couple hundred protein molecules. It is irreducibly complex. If you remove any molecules, it becomes completely useless. I had a similar feeling of "How did that come to be???" That's all I can remember. It's been a year or 2 since I learned about them.Hannibal942 said:While taking AP Bio, I learned about the sodium potassium pump. Its a little protein that perfectly changes its very structure to allow in Potassium while letting out sodium. ATP, another molecule, binds to this protein to let it happen, and it is because of this pump that our cells can maintain their overall electric charge.
This may not seem like a lot to some, but this shit blew my mind while I was reading it. All I could think of was, HOW THE FUCK ARE WE ALIVE?!
Combine all three. Eat it with fire and worship the poo.Zeeky_Santos said:So what do we do with awesome pie? Eat it? Kill it? Worship it as a god?AvsJoe said:So, wait...

You mean that little motor inside our inner mitochondrial membrane? Yeah, to hell with that and all those other little cellular monsters. I'd rather not now how all those impossibly small swimming bits of nothing are all that's keeping from my imploding/melting from the inside out.goldenheart323 said:Have you learned about the FTP motor? More on topic, if a dog and a dolphin can get together why can't the whole world?

In step 4, both sides are set to zero (a-b=0, so 0*each factor makes the equation 0=0). You don't divide the zero out. Hell, in step 3 you establish that a[sup]2[/sup]-b[sup]2[/sup]=b(a-b), which means 0 (a[sup]2[/sup]-a[sup]2[/sup] since a=b) = b*0 (a-a), therefore 0=0.crimson5pheonix said:Division by zero is possible! And it breaks reality.
Given:
a=b
a[sup]2[/sup]=ab
a[sup]2[/sup]-b[sup]2[/sup]=ab-b[sup]2[/sup]
(a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)
(a+b)=b
a+a=a
2a=a
2=1
Oh my Jesus Christ monkeyballs. That's so awesome you just made my entire day. And it needed to be made, was gonna be boring!SimuLord said:Someone mentioned to me today that 1337% of Pi = 42. Sure enough, I ran the numbers and to two decimal places, Pi * 13.37 = 42.00.

That's if you stop and solve the equation there. But as it stands, they're still variables. If you continue algebraic simplification, you end up with the final numbers. You only divide by 0 in hindsight. And it's a joke anyway, kinda how like 1337% of pi isn't really 42, but it is with simple math.SimuLord said:In step 4, both sides are set to zero (a-b=0, so 0*each factor makes the equation 0=0). You fail algebra forever.
