Have: No

Want: No

Why not: Because I'm fine with my body unmodified, fat notwithstanding. Also, I find them unattractive.

Find attractive: No

I have pierced ears but they are closed up (have been for years), I'll get them re-done eventually.
I'm a bit more meh on other piercings, mostly for practical reasons.
I did have a friend who I once noticed had a scar on his eyebrow, turns out a few years back he had a pierced eyebrow and a drunk mate of his thought it would be funny to rip the piercing out.

Tattoo's I'm less bothered by but I doubt I will ever get one, I change my mind too much.

No, I would never ever get a piercing or body modification. Even jewellery weirds me out for some reason, I just don't understand why people need to add all these additional things to themselves... they just don't look attractive at all in my opinion.

To me ear piercings and nose studs are fine, and tattoos are great (as log as theyre not stupid) but its just things like bull ring nose piercings that i think look stupid, and things like neck piercings just creep me out.

I would never get anything pierced, but if im convinced about what I want, i might get a tattoo some day

I don't have any interest in getting pierced and currently very little inclination to get some ink, though I'm not necessarily writing off the idea entirely. As for whether I find them attractive...*shrugs* I could take them or leave them really, providing it's not too excessive.

See, I would have piercings and a possible tattoo, but I have a thing about needles.

Can't stand them.

Got two holes in my left ear and I used to have a piercing in my eyebrow. Plan to take more holes in my ear and get some tattoos, but I'm taking it easy on that part. When I was 14 the eyebrow piercing was the coolest thing ever, but once I got older it just felt silly - so I don't want to do anything I might regret later.

I like tattoos as long as you don't overdo it. Piercings I prefer as restricted to the ears. I do find girls pierced in their bellybutton and tongue pretty sexy however.
Also; neck tattoos, silicone implants and those earrings that strech out your earlobe are fucking ugly.

A guy with a tongue stud once gave me the most amazing blowjob I've ever had though... But again, can't say for sure if that was the stud, or he was just really really good at it.
Think of the stud as a gaming mouse. It really doesn't make you any better but if you're a good player it unlocks more possibilities.

There are a lot of people who studs on who can't do it properly.

I heard it's a "rite of passage" thing. It's about pain, marking your body, etc. Just like the crocodile skin dudes but less extreme.

I don't see piercings as being attractive (and tongue rings get in the way, sometimes bringing about discomfort and other times outright pain). Tattoos can be attractive depending on what it is, where it is, who's wearing it, etc. I don't have any tattoos with no plans of getting one and I had my ear pierced back in the mid 2000's. It's mostly closed now though and there's something hard in my lobe...oh well, it probably won't kill me at this point considering how long it's been in there. Piercings and tattoos don't really appeal to me because I was never the kind of person who liked customizing my things in general.

I want a tattoo but have sadly resigned myself to never being able to afford the one I want. They can be attractive, in small doses or large ones on girls, depends on what they're like, if they fit with each other etc. As for piercings, I'm absolutely indifferent. My gf has 14 in her ears which I don't mind; I got one in my earlobe, but it swelled up to the point where my ear actually swallowed the stud and I had to get a doctor to dig it out with a pair of pliers, so I'm still recovering from that before I consider whether or not to try again.

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while, but there's two things stopping me.

First, I can't settle on what to get. It would have to be something I cared deeply about, or really enjoyed. (I've toyed with the idea of the woodpecker carrying the power drill from xkcd, because I really fucking love xkcd. It never fails to make me smile.) I just can't think of something I care THAT deeply about.

Second, I don't want to regret it. I'm pretty sure that at some point I'll look at it and say "why the fuck did I do that?" I suppose of I get a handle on point one then this won't be a big issue.

I had a labret piercing when I was younger. I still like the look of it but where I work atm would not allow it.

Tattoos I have a few of in easily covered places. If I ever open up my own computer shop like I wish then i'll get more, sleeves, neck, etc. Buuuut by that time i'm sure i'll be way older and will have moved on from wanting them. I have a small savings i've been saving for my sleeves though. I want them to be the highest quality and done by amazing artists.

I don't have piercings or a tattoo. I wanted a tattoo on my wrist, because if I get a tattoo it's something I want to be able to see not something I'll see once in a full moon in the mirror. But then I found out a lot of jobs require you to cover the tattoo, and the idea of having to wear long sleeves shirts even in the dead of summer just killed it for me.
Also, for tattoos I really hate the ones where people just have a myriad of shit going on. If you have a pattern or something you can tell at a glance at what it is, that's fine. But there are just some people who just have random stuff just all over and I think it doesn't look good at all.

As for piercings, I abhor them outside the basic ear ones. I just don't see the appeal of having random rings of metal or other jewelry jabbed through your skin.

I have 4 piercings, my ear, my eyebrow, and my bottom lip twice (known as snake bites where I live).
I'm actually quite surprised at the amount of people here who don't like the idea of tattoos and piercings. I got my eyebrow piercing originally mainly because I wanted to prove to myself that I could put up with the pain (strange I know, but that's how my mind works) then after seeing how good it looked on me I got my lip done as well.
Honestly, I think tattoos and piercings can be very attractive but as many have already said, it depends on the extent of them. Sometimes I see someone completely covered in tattoos and have to ask why and yet I'd love a tattoo myself, one that I drew a while back.
I know it's all personal opinion but I hate it when people look down on me because of my piercings, it's often people older than me but it's annoying that people can't keep their insults to themselves sometimes =/

I'm not really fussed about getting any piercings, but I am getting tattoos - or rather, when I have that kind of disposable income I'm getting some tattoos. The idea of the pain bothers me slightly, but not enough to put me off.

On other people, I think most piercings and tattoos are fine. Too many piercings, especially in one place or near places can look a bit... wonky, but mostly they're alright. The only one I dislike is ear tunnels. I've no real reason for disliking them, I just think they look a bit rubbish :/ I guess smaller ones are okay but once you start getting that little bit too big then I just kind of go "ugh".

So after recently getting my 5th piercing (Eyebrow) which was by far the most painful one I've had to date, and quite a few people being all "OHH WHY WOULD YOU EVEN?", I was wondering escapists; who of you has piercings, tattoos or other forms of body modification?

If you don't have any, would you want to get any? If not, why not? Do you find them attractive? And what is the worst piercing/tattoo/body mod you've ever seen?

Lets have a civil conversation about putting metal in ourselves to get away from the gender wars and politics for a change!

(Also there was a thread on this, but I didn't fancy necro'ing a year old thread.)
Have, Left shoulder, image of an Aquilla with 'Courage and Duty' underneath.

Depends on where/what it is (generally I perfer the less noticeable ones)

I don't have any myself, and probably won't get any. Not really attracted to the idea of having a piercing, and the thought of inking something to my skin permanently is pretty daunting. If I was going to get anything, I'd just get a small, inconspicuous tattoo somewhere not too visible.

As for other people having them, no problems, people can do what they like. I don't get it when people have tattoos that don't say anything about them or have any personal significance or greater meaning. I don't understand the appeal of spacers at all, and those people who have more ink and metal than skin kinda creep me out, but each to his/her own. If we're talking about girls, sometimes the 'punk/goth' look can be pulled off really well, other times it falls a bit flat.

I read an article once on how to have a good tattoo, and one of the examples they gave was a lawyer who had a tattoo on his wrist of a small spider, done in such a way that it was hidden under his watch. He'd take the watch off and reveal the spider when he was getting serious in the courtroom.
