No, but it suggests a lack of imagination. If I find a character attractive it's because I imagine them as they would look/act as a real person, I am not literally attracted to the pixels themselves.

I assume this goes for most people (or I hope rather).

The problem I find with imagining it is that the logical side of my brain will always take over and tell me that it's not real. If it's not real, why bother?

True, but you have to suspend disbelief, the same way you do when watching films, reading books and so on.

Sure it sucks when you remember it's not real, but it's enjoyable enough when you can forget how dull things really are.

It does, seeing as a good percentage of JRPG female characters seem to be designed physically flawless.

While there are female characters that I've thought 'If she was real...', I've never got a boner over them. In a way, while it's to reel in the desperate fellas, I find it rather pathetic. I wish more games had more reasonably characterised and dressed woman instead of bad-ass girls wearing skin-tight clothes and anime girls with everything hanging out.
