YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

I honestly thought the news report thing was an Onion-style parody. It's pretty neat though, performance art.

We used to play it as the Lancashire lying down game (planking does sound much better). It could be fun... when I was 12.
So it actually has British origins...

I wonder if it comes from a very effective abdominal exercise which is quite hard to do.

Wow I actually find this pretty awesome. I love that at the end of the 2nd video there's a planker going up the escalator while the reporter reports the report. lol

Seriously, it's sometimes impossible to facepalm hard enough at people these days...

Hehe. Yeah.

Never even heard about this before, but it's all cool. Planking away like a bawse.

I'm not sure how it started, but I know Triple J (a very popular Australian radio station) encouraged planking at music festivals, and awarded prizes to the best photos of people planking. Personally, I don't understand it, I can still chuckle at it, though.

Stupidest thing I saw today, I'm puzzled how this got to be a so popular.

Highest rated gem of YouTube intelligentsia for the first video:

"Britain = British Empire
America = Space Race
Australia = Planking"

Boredom causes people to do silly things.

As long as you are having fun and not doing something stupidly dangerous or illegal then I say enjoy.

I read this in newspaper on Friday at school, I'm reading it thinking what the hell, whilst my friend is nearly falling out of his chair, laughing at the phrase "Where a man has been charged with allegedly planking on a police car."
Thought it was strange, but we decided not worth our time as we couldn't even hold ourselves up over the sides of a picnic bench 40cms off the ground.

I can't even watch those. That blonde newscaster started talking and my ears started bleeding. I imagine this is Australia? No wonder it is a prison island.
Channel 9 is banned under UN resolutions on torture, but they just. don't. stop.
