You might want to check out the first episode of panty & stocking on youtube before you DL the first season (whether we're being trolled about there being a second season remains to be seen)

This is the first 7 minutes or so of ep1, take a look at it and see what you think. It's a show you're either going to love or hate with all the fiery hatred of...hate...ness...

Oh and in case you get the vibe the show was made up by a bunch of drunk guys in a hot tub, that's cause it was.

ive already watched the 1st episode and downloaded the soundtrack. thank u very much. this anime is awesome.

Ranma 1/2- I'm not sure how good the anime is (I haven't seen it) but the manga is extremely good. It's so funny to the point that I couldn't breathe sometimes.
Gintama- It's not a slice of life anime but it is really funny. It makes fun of the conventions of anime, most particularly parodying Cowboy Bebop. Plus, it also manages to have good serious moments as well, sometimes being sad and sometimes being pure awesome

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is a must-see if you want comedy and slice-of-life. Also, School Days. Another good choice would be Haruhi Suzumiya...

Ouran High School Host Club, this one has a kinda childish looking start, when I first watched it I quit halfway through the first ep, but about 3/4 the way through the first ep it gets really good, the characters have really interesting pasts and personalities, it is now one of my favorite animes aside from death note and code geass.

(Death note and Code geass, if you have not seen them are kind of slice of life, but both the main character on them has a special power of sorts, one has a notebook that can kill people
he wants to make a new world with it.. he gets... slightly more corrupt as the anime goes on
and in code geass he has a power to manipulate people to do what he wants them to do
he also tries to make a new/better world with his power
some of the things he does with that power are insane, not to mention the plans he comes up with, oh.. and also it has some mecha battles, as it's a tiny bit into the future.

It has been said before, but School Days is a really good one, it has some really interesting twists, and the end... it will make your eyes will fall out.

Ahhhh, I remember this anime, every ten seconds the "heroine" cracks a dirty joke while the main character starts to whine and complain about her not being normal.

OT:You might like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. It makes me laugh all the time.
Been meaning to see that sensei anime, will do in the near future.

Fruits Basket. It is my favorite anime, no question about it.
While it has its fair share of humor (most of which is hilarious, if I might add), it's often surprisingly touching. I'm not afraid to admit that the show moved me to tears on several occasions. It's kind of like It's a Wonderful Life in that it demonstrates how a little kindness can literally change lives. It's one of those shows where you're deeply affected by it...in a good way.

Unfortunately they only made twenty-six episodes, as the manga version was only about halfway done at the time. Because of this, many plot threads remain unresolved at the end of the series. Still, the show manages to still have a mostly satisfying conclusion. There aren't any plans to continue the anime because the team disbanded to work on other projects and composer Ritsuko Okazaki tragically died of blood poisoning. The manga is worth checking out if you want to see a final resolution for the story.

LOL I think that is actually the ghayest thing I have ever seen. Not the anime, the anime is pretty good, but how you explained it... just wow.

Kanon is my contribution. It's funny and slice of life though it's from the same creators of Clanned so expect some heartwrenching sad moments.

I would recommend Bakemonogatari. Uhm, it's not really slice of life but this is my pick for the best anime ever. This is a dark comedy (just like sayonara zetsubou sensei)with some romance and I just love the original characters in here and how the world is portrayed metaphorically. I swear I was doing backflips of enjoyment when I heard that this is getting a second season (a prequel).
I also liked Durarara! and am still crossing my fingers for a second season for this one ^^
