Well recently I've gotten an urge to watch as much Sci-Fi as possible. The bigproblem is trying to find some that is of at least tolerable quality.

So please Escapists tell me of any Sci-Fi that you like, I don't care wether it's a book, film or TV Show as long as it showcases the dreams of tomorrow I want to see it.

Well, for Sci-fi books, the are any of the books by Robert A. Heinlein, for films, try Starship Troopers, which is sci-fi/war.
That is just for starters...

Yep, go for the Dune series.

You'll never run out of reading material.

They have the main story, the prequel, the pre-prequel, the sequel...

It's so fleshed out that at times you wonder if Herbert had time to eat and sleep.

Even the discovery of space-folding (Think: Warpspeed) is documented through the eyes of it's creater, and then explained in complete detail once they complete it.

Marvelous.

***EDIT***
By the way, each of my aforementioned pieces of story is several books long.

The prequel, for example, includes House Harkonnen, House Corrin, and House Atreides.

The Pre-prequel is...I think about three books long as well.

The main story is mindbogglingly large.

Just throwing it out there.

Farscape and Lexx are great shows. If you watch Lexx be sure to watch the four movies that make up the first season, after that the next three seasons (2-4) are regular hour long episodes.

Firefly. Hands down one of the best sci-fi shows I've watched.

As far as movies go, Serenity is the obvious choice if you watched Firefly, but there's also Dark City, an absolutely amazing film. Also watch the first half of The Island. It's the only thing directed by Michael Bay that I came close to liking. He completely fucked over his own movie in the second half because he couldn't stop being himself. Up until that point though it's pretty neat. District 9 also rocks and, if you're into this kind of thing, Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Of course there's Event Horizon (Deadspace's "source material"), Hitchhiker's Guide and all of the other wonderful movies that other people have mentioned too.

For anime Legends of the Galactic Heroes is excellent and about 110 episodes long which covers about 30 years so it will take a while.

For TV series the re imagined Battlestar Galactica is amazing. Also try the 4400, which was good.

For books

The Serrano series (seven books) by Elizabeth Moon if you can put up with the girl power.
Anything by Julian May, especially Rampart worlds
The Endar series by Orson Scott Card
Lois McMaster Bujold - Vorkosigan Universe
The Darkover series by various authors
Hyperion series by Dan Simmons, strange but good

It should also be worth mentioning that the book and movie versions of Starship troopers are very different. The book is serious while the movie is satire.

Iain M Banks is quite possibly the best Sci-Fi writer I've encountered, it's thoroughly absorbing and very imaginative. Currently reading some of Vonnegut's work (which in places is very sci-fi, other times just strange), it's pleasantly left field.

Books:

Neuromancer, or anything from William Gibson while we're at it.

Or if space operas are more up your alley, try The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons.

I'd like to suggest the works of William Gibson, though perhaps not classic sci-fi his books are a good read. If your interested start with neuromancer.
EDIT: Damn Ninjas, always there first

Farscape

Film:
Bladerunner (I recomend the 'final cut' version personally)
Star Wars
