Plot holes in games and films (potential spoilers)

Gears of War 1 & 2

1. what exactly did Marcus do to be in prison?
2. what exactly war the point of the lab level?
3. is the COG army a corporation or somthing?

i know theres others but i cant think of anymore

1. he left his post during a siege to go save his dad. He got a lot of men killed, and he also fail to save his dad, or so it seem. So he got sent to prison for leaving his post.

2. The whole lab part was to uncover the whereabouts of the locust stronghold. For some reason it was just "unclassified" just now, so thats why they were sent up. Which doesn't surprise me since I'm sure there a lot of shit held up as classified in real world government that the people don't know half about that could save hundreds of lives.

3. The COG army is a type of government. It was a military type and was pretty big. I read the book of Gears of war, but forgot some of it. But I believe correctly that the COG is a type of government that focus mostly on military.

Also I'm not sure why a lot of people say gears didn't have a story since the story told it self pretty good. Evil creature come up destroying everything in their way after the planet just had a massive World war, which left a lot of countries piss poor. They fought back, but fail so they destroy most of their stuff so the locust couldn't claim it. They pull back to the only spot which the locust couldn't burrow though and left a number of people outside when they blew up everything.


The war been going on for 14 years, which all that stuff I wrote happen during that. And during this time, you are trying to plate a new device that could "end" the war. Which only delay it for a time. And not sure what else I could write, so if any more people like to say why gears didn't have a story, or plot holes I'll do my best to explain.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, book and movie. It was just one huge plot hole, even reading it as a kid I was just left thinking wtf!?

[spoiler/]why didn't the fake Mad Eye Moody (Barty Croach junior) just put the port key spell on Harry's shoes or his broom stick or something. It wouldn't have been hard to do. A hell of a lot easier than getting Harry though 3 huge mother fucking tests so he could touch the cup at the end. The port key spell could be cast on anything, we saw that at the beginning with the wellington boot and the old tire and so on that got everyone to the Quidich world cup. What the Hell!? [/spoiler]

Also, the whole point was to make sure that no one knew what voldermort was doing. he was suppose to be "dead". It was also to get him to be alone. Which he hardly was though out the book. I'm sure if harry just teleported out of a classroom, or in front of people, then someone , like a teacher could easily teleport where he was. So if he was in the tournament, at the end no one will know whats going on. Atleast thats the way I view it. Also I think it had to be at a certain time like one person said. So pointless to do it, and the tournament open up a way to get him alone to get him out unnoticed.

I would have to disagree with some of them though. The Lion King was part of archetypal Greek story. The desolation is metaphorical for the natural order being out of wack.

That's the whole point of Minority Report. It's not like the movie was subtle about it either.

The character from the sixth sense is partially insane. That's why he didn't notice anything was wrong.

What are the biggesr plot holes you have encountered in any kind of entertainment medium? I would say one of the most confusing is the fact that Leia knew her mother and described her in return of the Jedi, despite the fact that Padme died at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

Back to The Future:

Marty McFly goes back in time, invents rock and roll, helps his parents get together, and everyone forgets about it. Huh? Um, did no one (especially his hoe mom) say, "Jeez, you look exactly like that mysterious stranger who invented the very music you listen to and play on your guitar in the exact same style and i tried to bang."

Minority Report:

The "Pre-Cogs" don't work. Like, at all. They predicted Tom Cruise would commit *premeditated* murder. He didn't even know they guy he was supposed to kill! You can not make a logical argument for how they are supposed to work.

Ace Venture: Pet Detective:

Dan Marino is kidnapped THE DAY OF THE SUPERBOWL and the Dolphins still take the field. Wouldn't at least one other player say "You couldn't protect the 1983 Rookie of The Year and two-time MVP at a freakin commercial shoot, our mascot was stolen from its cage, how can you guarantee our safety AT ALL?!"

The Sixth Sense:

Bruce Willis is the only ghost with no idea he is dead. All the other ones are mindless zombies with no communication skills, but Bruce gets to have in-depth conversations with this kid? Also, EVERY M. Night Shyamalan movie. What's that? The aliens die when exposed to water? Maybe they shouldn't have attacked a planet where the dominant species is 90% water and the planet is 70% water.

If you are gonna talk about the Terminator series, then why didn't the machines send the hot girl from T3 back to kill John's Great Grandfather as an infant? This is the biggest plot hole in any time traveling movie. "Okay, here we are in blank year. We only have 4 days to fix the future." No, no you don't. If you fuck up, just go back and try again. Or maybe you should have went back ten years and fixed everything there, instead of only giving yourself 2 days. At least Marty McFly went back by accident and created problems that didn't exist before he got there.

Well in Fallout 3, when your dad dies, why does the Colonel live?

Well he injects himself with some sort of anti-radiation drug. If you look closly you can see him jab something in his arm when your dad makes the purifier overload.

ya- The last Excorsism( or The last Excorsist)- The whole town is in on this satanic ritual, the girl can obviously just tell them of it but she doesn't, the dad has no idea and isn't in it, the main characters are idiots because even though they see pictures of exactly what is happening they don't run and instead do what the pictures say, the brother tells them to turn around although wouldn't he want to sacrifice them as well!!!! ARGH!

I mean this is the only other guy who knows how to build the thing, why on EARTH would you send him back to the country that wants to wipe your of the face of the Earth!?

Watchmen. So Dr Manhattan and Ozymandias are teaming up to build renewable energy. Sorry to break it to you Snyder and co but, as much as I loved the movie, Jon already fixed that problem in the book and he did it on his own. Also why, if there no "You know what" in the movie, is Adrian's mutated pet lynx around. Bubastis was created SOLELY for the reason to see if the "You know what" could be created genetically? Why involve the cat for?
