what are some pointless but really enjoyable features in games you like?
one of my favorite things in a game is a bestiary, I like to know what Im fighting and why, its even better when its also got a model viewer with it or a trophy thing like in smash brothers, I love thoes things

I agree with the OP, i love bestiaries, or like they have had with the last 2 Bioware games, Codexs, especially Mass Effects', where they actually had a database telling you all the info.

How about being able to play 'Snake' or 'Astro Lander' on the map device in Timesplitters 2? That was one of the most random things ever when I found I could do it.

I've always really enjoyed the Gran Theft Auto -series' radios. I really like all that kind of pointless content: always makes a game more interesting, grand and builds to the image that they've really made an effort.

Not sure if this is really a 'feature', but... stairs. Good stair climbing animations. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for example- the game is littered with stairs, and I love climbing them because of how amazing it looks.
