In Braid.
Alright, well since you've completed all those puzzles, I guess you deserve this key. It goes in one of those doors. Owww, you picked the wrong one and your key broke? That'll teach you for not developing your psychic abilities more. Mwhahahaha.

The quick-time events in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed were very pointless.
Yes, they were. They were just a way to make the battles with jedi look cool and drag on for long than they should.

The fight against Guilty Spark in Halo 3
This

That fight came out of nowhere. There was no reason to kill Guilty Spark and Sergeant Johnson. It just seemed out of place.

When cloud goes into a coma in FF7 and then as Tifa go into his mind and fix him

The Keaton Mask in Majora's Mask, and the Gerudo/Zora/Goron Masks from Ocarina of Time. They were basically just there.

I would have to say most of Fallout 3's story missions because once you do beat the game, you cant keep playing

The entire new Prince of Persia

You go through the entire game clensing the game area and you seal the final boss..but no the prince destroys the seal and releases the bad guy making all of what you did the entire game pointless!

The most pointless moment in a game is when you create a character on WoW.

Oh no he DI'NT!

The last part of Shadow of the Colossus that you control your character. I tried multiple times to change the ending, but in the end the stuff always happens with the splat.

(too lazy to do a spoiler to not be vague, but I'm sure people who have played it know what I mean).

Was a really awesome part and very heartfelt and I understand why they let you control it regardless of outcome, but still felt kind of pointless.

Adding to that, 99% of all dialogue in Final Fantasy games, and 100% of everything said by the protagonist of Final Fantasy games.
I caught that reference. Nice one.

You do know what that's for, right?
Yeah, I do. But it's essentially a one-use item. Most of the masks from both games are...
There are multiple Keaton spots though. And Mask of Scents is just plain stupid. It goes to some side quest I cannot ever remember.

How is that pointless?

Some of us like to personalize our characters especially on RP realms.

It hurts me to say this, but the last mission of Ace Combat 5 was completely pointless. The story was already over and it only served to send you through a giant set piece and be a climax after a climax.

No... I meant the act of playing the game that's pointless.

I guess it'd be better if I would've said from the moment you click "I agree". Or, actually, from the moment you login with your user name.

I'm just getting at the fact that it's pointless! Hence the "Oh no he DI'NT!"

And for the record, I'm a massive fan of online RPing, and WoW was the game that introduced me into it. A shame that it all went horribly horrid after about 6 months of the game being released over here in Europe.

True. I honestly forgot about the actual Keatons, though. But thanks for reminding me. The Mask of Scents was horrible.

you sir, have messed with the wrong FF Fangirl...

*has hissy fit*
X3
fair point though, there is a lot of dialogue in FF games
Hey I love the games! Just sometimes repetitive dialogue gets tiring when I wanna kill me some monsters!
I know, but then the battles happen too often and it's always the same thing you're killing. Then you just wanna get to the next point and go on with the story/hear some actual dialogue, helpful or not.
